Candela was holding herself back, fighting the urge to pull Natasha’s hair and drag her on the floor to throw few punches. She might be tiny but she had good strength. Being blonde, she often got judged and people labeled her as bimbo, fake, gold digger. If they truly knew her, they would know she was far away from those labels. Those labels gave her courage, strength and motivation to do something with her life and prove not others but herself that she is capable of many things in life. Deep, deep down, Candela knew that both of them got on the wrong good; she already figured Natasha is going to be an enemy or a frenemy. She truly didn’t care nor she had time for high school drama pettiness. “You’re a smart cookie, you could figure it out what it means. I’m glad I don’t know you nor I want to get to know you. Though I’d tell you to go fuck yourself, but that would be cruel and unusual punishment.” Candela gave Natasha a fake smile and rolled her eyes, wiping the smile away.
Last night was fun. Candela had good times with everyone and to think that she and Natasha had also bonded. True feelings and truth words come out when they’re drunk. Some people are beyond from saving. Candela thought about all the things happened in past twenty-four hours and what’s happening at that second. Reminding herself to stay calm otherwise she will stay up all day which will affect her shift at work. It didn’t feel like work for her, she enjoyed it, earn extra money by dancing. She threw her head back and laughed at Seth’s comment about his boobs and Tre. “We’re just tired. We have been here more than 12 hours and it’s past our bed time. We would have been on our way home to sleep but you guys crashed.” Candela really missed her bed right about now, her whole body ached and her feet were killing her. She pulled out her phone from her bag and sent a reminder to herself to go for massage and some mani-pedi. Some pampering didn’t hurt her bank. She worked harder and less smarter she could have some time and money without breaking her bank.
”Catcher is a sweetheart. You four are a good group of friends who have different personality. And dickhead is an ass. I’m a fool to think that he would be okay with me being a stripper. His loss.” More she thought about, she knew some red flags were there when it came to Rafael. He wasn’t it for her; there wasn’t any spark and it was just cheesy lines that made up spark. He knew how to woo a girl but to her, it wasn’t enough. She needed some magic in bedroom, someone to satisfy her cravings. He wasn’t anything special anymore and she was somewhat relieved that it didn’t work now than later. Things would have been ugly and nasty. With new free time, she can go back to working out, finding more hobbies and exploring while she was still around. Candela didn’t know where she was going to go next but could wait for another day and when she’s functional. ”You truly warmed my heart, Nic. We will be touch for sure.” She lost a man but she gained a friend.
When Veronica had invited Seth on their trip, happiness took over her body. For a second, she pictured how amazing it would be to do cross country road trip with more people. Astronaut costume caught Candela’s attention. She was busy thinking about trips, food and adventure and that shows how much she disappears into her world. ”Claude, owner of the club was in the costume. He’s one weird man. I think he’s probably at home sleeping or planning on which costume to wear next.” First time she met Claude, he was asking weird questions about being human, date and where Bigfoot was hiding. What surprised her the most was that Claude and Rafael were friends. She remembered seeing Rafael when she was stage with Veronica. She wanted to jump off the stage and slap him, kick him in the balls in front of people. Thinking about how much she wanted to torture him for doing that to her, rage and sadness filled her mind again. She focused on her breathing and happy thoughts to calm down.
Confusion was all over Candela’s face when Catcher came over to where she was and leaning against the counter. She was tempted touch him, hold his hand and run her fingers through his black hair. She was barely alive on the inside and she was tempted to hold his hand. She looked at Natasha briefly then turned her attention to her half-husband. Catcher was trying to change her decision about leaving and it was nice gesture however she had made up her mind. Catcher was breath of fresh air for Candela; growing up she didn’t have people around her that were supporting, kind and loving to her. After her father had passed away, her mother lost control and turned towards drugs. There are infinity ways to be a man, as there are infinity ways to be a woman, for all personality traits exist in both. Yet Catcher had both empathy and a very masculine form of strength. He was divine. “Thank you very much, but I’m fine and enjoy learning as I go so I’m stronger in the next phase of life. Also,” Candela leaned towards Catcher and whispered ”your moody girl won’t like it. I don’t need drama in my life, darlin. I have the certificate with me, I’m planning on shredding it since it was stupid to get married for hell of it.” Candela briefly thought about taking up on his offer however more she thought about the more she realized that she needs to be independent and not rely on anyone. Marriage certificate was in her bag along with her laptop, tucked away safe until she was ready to shred it. For few moment, she felt like there was nothing wrong with her and she is capable of loving and getting married.
She yawned, making her eyes watery as tiredness slowly taking over her body. Candela looked at the group trying to get their attention on what they're doing next. She didn't want to burst their bubble just as much she didn't want to go back to Rafael's place to sleep. She was truly on the streets if Rafael had decided to leave all of her things out the door. Well, she wasn't truly on the streets, she could pack everything in her car and get a motel room until she finds a place around town. She groaned and lightly banged her head on the counter. Getting looks from Dani and Tre. Dani lived in one bedroom apartment and Tre lived with his fiancee so she couldn't bother them. "Just when I thought I had my shit together. Now, I have to take up Catcher's offer after declining. Fuck." Candela murmured to herself. She sighed and looked at the group. She walked towards Catcher and lightly pulled him on the side. "I know I said I will be fine, but it's a lie. Do you mind if I crash at your place until I find a place of my own? I promise I will keep your place clean and I cook pretty good." It was last resort for her and didn't give rats ass about Natasha being offended or how many tantrums she threw at her. If she could handle bullies back home, she could handle Natasha.

Seth was right; she never hurt him. Over the years head had became her closest friend and they alway were there for each other, Tash would never do anything to jeopardize that. She listened to Veronica words, it was sound advice she wasn't there to beat anyone up but stupid bald superman didn't help her mood nor did standing in the club wanting to leave this place and everything behind with it. It seemed the longer I had to listen to Candi's irritating voice the more amped she had become When Candi came at her hard like an angry little squirrel, she clenched her fist so hard that her long purple chipped polished nails dung into the palms of her hands hard enough to make tiny cuts that healed almost instantly. She was over the blonde garden gnome. Everything about Candi annoyed her.
It wasn't till Seth mentioned the smell of dead rat did she notice the air did slightly smell funny from where she was standing, Seth was nearly a foot taller than her so seeing he could pick up the smell in the air higher up made sense to her. There was a vampire scent that wasn't helping her mood at all. She was always more sensitive to the smell, she didn't trust vampires much but over the time being a shapeshifter she had learned that she had to chill a little when in the presence of one though she could tell whoever this vampire was he was no longer in the building. "Whatever it is, I don't think we need to worry about.it right now. It smells like it's been dead for a while.". She looked at her pile of clothes and her bag she had dropped at her feet while pulling Candi hand out Catch's trying to remember she had to pick it up before they left if she didn't want to return, this would hopefully be her second and last trip to Starrbutts.
Her eyes travelled up to the painted black ceiling and she bit her lip irritability listening to the conversation go on. One about getting Candi's stuff from Raf's place. She for sure wasn't going to lift a finger to help move anything out, with Candi around they couldn't speak freely about anything. They would always have to hide their secret from here. She wished she could phase in front of Candi, maybe scare her all the way to the different site she wanted to move to.She knew it wasn't allowed to be done and Sam would have another problem to solve that he would for sure reprimand her for. It would be the easiest way to get rid of the miniature barbie wannabe.
Tash wasn't enjoying her time at the club like she probably had last night. She was beginning to lose patience for everything, Seth was even starting to irritate her which was far from normal. She felt like her mood was moving through phases all day and it wasn't helping her any right now. Not only could she tell she was passing off Candi but she felt like she was ruining her relationship with her friends too. Catcher and Veronica didn't deserve all of her mood swings, they didn't do anything wrong, she was just letting her mood out, not trying to direct her anger at anyone. Candi was that too just a victim of her bitchiness but the way she was speaking to Tash only made her dislike her even more. There would be a lot of money on the planet that would make her want to go on a girls trip with Candi. She would sleep on a pile of worms before she get in the same car as her. The thought sent a shiver down her spine . She hated worms but right now they were a better option. She made a mental note about the strip club boss being named Claude just in case she ever ran into him in the future.
She followed the group towards the bar and almost ready to leave then came over and she felt his arms around her. She lay her head on his shoulder as he stroked her hair. She breathed in his scent and enjoyed the closeness but it felt wrong also, he wasn't the one who should have been here helping her and talking sense into her. The one she hoped wasn't hers anymore and one day she has to get over him and move on. Softening a little knowing he didn't have to try and put her in a better mood but she did enjoy seeing that even after leaving her to chase Veronica he still cared about her in some capacity. She could tell what he was doing, bribing her with food so she wouldn't leave. "I'll stay a little longer..food.will be my next stop either way." Catcher pulled away and his eyes lingered on her a little longer before he pulled away and told the other he was fine.
She lifted the straw from her drink and raised it was empty so she chucked the cup in the trash and went to retrieve the items she had left on the floor just in time to hear Candi still had the mirage certificate in her bag. It was good to hear she was going to shred it but the worst news she could have heard was Candi telling the friendly dark haired bartender that she had to take Catcher up on his offer.
Walking silently over to the bar she picked up a Candi bag from the shiny lacquered bar top and poured her bag all over the floor. Tampons, laptop, cash, lipstick, gum, some extra pairs of undergarments, perfume, her cell phone and the marriage certificate fell out all over the floor. She quickly scooped up the paper and folded it a few times before ripping it to little shards and dropping it into the trash can. She spit on it a few times for good measure. "There at least that's one problem solved for you Princess."

Seth was still in a bit of shock as the exchanges between Candi and Tash were getting a bit heated. He was trying his best to break tension with jokes helping to lighten the mood but even his cheerful zen mood wasn't helping cool down things between those too. He chuckled as Catcher jokes trying to kiss him with pouty lips but he dodged every single one laughing. Seth really didn't realize how much he missed Catcher when he was away. Catcher was the sane to his crazy, though since last night Seth was begging to think their roles had been reversed. Seth remembered knowing something about last night that the others did. At some point he had made out with some random dude, the guy was either guy or super drunk either way he wasn't going to mention this to his friends unless someone said something first right now he was on the clear. " If you want to get your stuff out all I have to do is go home and grab my truck, I'm sure Catcher and I could carry everything out no problem." Veronica would probably help but he didn't mention her to the moody little tinkerbell standing looking very unamused at the whole situation. Tash would just probably just throw boxes and stuff out the windows not worrying if she broke Candi's things at all. When they moved her Tash wouldn't be invited. It would.be sad to see Candi leave before he ever gets a chance to even get to know her. "I'm not carrying your stuff across the country so you should just take Catcher's up on his offers, I know he has more than one empty room in that big fancy house of his, his mom pays the bills for it still even though she hasn't lived there in a while. If anything you will be Mrs.Reeves guest."
Veronica seemed to have the same idea has he had, trying to convince Candi to stay and cross country roadtrip sounded fun but he would need to see if he could get some time off work for some summer travels. "I have to see if I can swing it around my busy schedule, unfortunately for me now that school is done I have more work to do at the shop. I can't just split on a whim." Seth wanted to get through his Apprenticeship at the garage as soon as possible. As soon as he could get his mechanics license he opened his own shop right in La Push no more travelling back and forth to Port Angeles for work.
When he finally got a reply about the astronaut costume, Seth nodded of course the guy who ran the joint was a vampire it made the most sense. He gets to be in this place day or night never working about exposure to sunlight. He actually seemed very smart so it was odd for Candi to call him strange. Seth would have to meet him sometime. They all moved closer to the bar and Candi and a seat. She looked tired and felt bad for her man trouble and Tash's attitude she probably ended some sleep to clear the fog in her head. He was about to go talk to Natasha for Candi's sake but when he turned back around he saw Catcher hugging her like she was a teddy bear. He must have been trying to comfort her even in her most bitchy state,.he was still hugging his little high school crush. Seth rolled his eyes slightly knowing it probably wouldn't completely mellow her out but he did think they sort of looked cute together. It almost made him imagine how if they were together in high school how different things would be. The pretty top of the class positive girl contrasted with his bad boy style, it made.him think about the movie Grease. He was getting too lost in his thoughts and when Catcher moved over to the bar he dropped the thought completely. Did Candi notice something too when she called Tash Catcher's moody girl.she must have seen something in the way he held her. "She is not his girl so don't worry about her much. She is just like our big sister looking out for us young pups." It was the only explanation Seth could give to Candi that would make the most sense.
Seth almost forgot the bet completely till Catcher brought it back up.he rubbed his hands together waiting to hear the outcome. When Candi said she had to take up Catcher on his offer, Seth looked over at Veronica smugly and held open his hand. "See told you I won." He didn't get his cash from Veronica because he turned his head when he heard stuff being poured out all over the floor. At some point Tash had grabbed Candela's bag and poured it on the floor, she found what she was looking for because she began to rip and tear the paper into tiny pieces. He watched as she dropped the little slivers of paper in the trash. When she finished off by spitting on the paper bits Seth couldn't help but to laugh. If she had asked Candi nicely she might have just handed it over she didn't have to be so extreme. Seth bent down and began to pick up Candi's things very gently. He picked up her panties, pinching them between two fingers and quickly dropping them into her bag. "Tash no ice cream for you later. Can't you be nice?"

Slipping his arms off his friends, he took a step forward to meet Candela’s approach, lowering his ear to listen to her whisper what she had chosen to do and he was more disappointed than he ever thought he would be. Unconsciously, he was poker faced as he accepted she still wanted to stay with Rafael until she left despite the unpredictability of it and his generosity. He paused awkwardly almost telling her not to worry about Natasha and drama; hearing someone talk about Natasha as if they were an item for the first time in his life, made him blink hard with a weird look on his face as he was glanced at her, shaking off a glimmer of hope and fascination at the possibility. Ultimately remembering how he thought she felt, he ignored it all and curtly cut through the nonsense with a resolute fact. If it wasn’t for Seth interrupting, he would have said directly that Natasha was nowhere near being his girl. It seemed her lack of interest in him all day had offended some part of his confidence and he was sour enough he needed the notion rejected clearly to Candela.
His thoughts had structured exactly the way Seth presented so he bit his lip and remarked. ”We’ve got V’s car, should be enough… but I do need to go get my bike at yours later. I could just walk.”That was a distant future; first he had to find his clothes and keys in Natasha’s trunk, he deduced it had to be her car not Veronica’s since he left Seth with her instead. They lived close enough to cycle but he let him know in case Seth passed out, he would have errands to run with a possible guest so he couldn’t leave it there as long as he’d like now.
He was getting ahead of himself and rocked boyishly on his heels with a thumb hanging on the edge of his jean pocket as he nodded and smiled thinly, so extremely slowly it erred on the side of caution. Seth was talking about his house which only he and Veronica had been to at this point and Catcher held his breath that angry Natasha would be insulted that Candela was now going to be there before her too when she was the closer friend; his mother had a penchant for property and kept it, more than pleased he would check in on it for these few months because she had a superstition it would be decrepit without a person she trusted taking care of it. He really just existed in it, there was nothing wrong; she was paranoid about harsh seasons.
When Candela referred to doing the marriage for the hell of it, the side of his mouth ticked up in a lopsided bashful smile, and an eyebrow rose at her as he looked at her at an angle, setting the half-finished ‘cup of Joe’ on a table. ”Do whatever you want with it.” Saying so, the certificate was a parting gift and he turned to face her frontally, not meeting her gaze for long before embracing her goodbye with a gentle squeeze and giving her a soft peck on the cheek. ”Well Candi, I wish you all the best.” Ending the hug, he smiled at her handsomely in understanding that she wanted to make it on her own, hiding his unexplainable dismay that this would be the last time they’d ever meet. Stepping away, he hung a thumb on the edge of the jean pocket and tugged at Seth’s shirt to motion him along, sizing up his friends as he considered how much they could all eat while he picked up his drink again.
”I guess we can go get something to eat. Preferences?” His bribe to Natasha about food was simply because he had nothing else to persuade her with, the venture was always going to fail; he just anticipated that she would stay so thorny. Every rose had its thorns and he gave up. As he neglected to wait for Veronica and Natasha to bid their adieus to the employees of the club, he reached the door before he felt a small hand pulling his arm and deviated from Seth to side step. He had shut his eyes when he heard that Veronica lost the bet, that neither of them had placed a wager for the outcome. His face was all questions but he blearily watched Candela bring him back over to the bar as she confessed details, hastily blocking his mouth with the back of his hand to stop from chuckling. Catcher lit up at all the things she said, re-energising as he was poised to dip distractingly, hoping to grab her bag from the stool next to her before she moved, not agreeing or disagreeing with her polite trade of skills. He didn’t need her to do anything but it was fun to let her think whatever she wanted, even if it left her a little anxious. When Natasha came over in silence and emptied the contents on the floor, his jaw dropped and his eyes were intensely large as she ripped the legal document into strips, closing his mouth when she spat on them for good measure. ”Who even married us? The astronaut?” That was an important question he had overlooked and he stood there appalled at Natasha, not giving her fuel for fire with an argument, when Seth came to help, pinching the lacey, flimsy underwear from off the floor, he opted not to wait for the answer.
Squatting down beside him, he showed indifference to what the objects were, knowing Candela was probably embarrassed they were touching her personal items; zipping the bag as if he was packing his own and taking it like nothing ever happened. ”We might need a rain check V, drain the pool tomorrow? It’ll take at least six hours to get rid of the water and longer to refill it.” He had promised to help clean up her place, put back the shower curtain if salvageable, and he almost thought about bribing Veronica with a mountain of quesadillas and donuts so she would food coma for the night; it would give him more time to help Candela until the next morning though Veronica would probably tag along and do her benevolent part. They could use her car and an extra pair of hands or they would get Seth’s impressive truck; he was so lost in his own overzealous plans he didn’t consider if Candela drove. Somehow, even if she did, he wouldn’t have changed a thing of what he was doing.
Giving Natasha the side eye; it was definitely a ‘no ice cream’ for her day. He strode out of the building with Candela’s belongings slung over his shoulder to open Veronica’s unlocked car door, placing it in the backseat, practically stealing everything; colder air hitting him as the sun hid behind cloudy streaks in the sky. He held onto the door and looked behind to see if Candela followed, making a scooping hand gesture in air to usher her into the car then stalking over to Natasha’s trunk, fiddling with the latch and jiggling the old Volkswagen boot until it clicked and lifted. Now it seemed the universe knew they needed two cars to prevent a catfight.
Their stopover was about as short as he thought it would be, a relief equal to the one he felt finding his pants, shirt and his favourite leather jacket. He held the still belted dark jeans upside down and tossed out the keychain to catch it in his hand before wearing the jacket and swirling all the fabric in a lump around his forearm, slamming the lid back down tightly. Taking his stuff he stayed between the cars, squinting up at the setting sun. ”Tash if you really don’t want to come with us… you can drop us at Seth’s or we’ll go with V.” He didn’t know what she expected them to do but he had no more efforts for her and it seemed better that she left to do her own thing or he left to do his own thing since his composure was cracking. Presently, she was the snow queen and Candela was the heroine Gerda, which would have made him Kai and he was starting to wonder if he had been bewitched all along by her enchantment to be so infatuated with Natasha when there was no room for anyone in her life. His brain was fizzing out from frustration and emotions he didn’t want like back in high school before he dated Veronica, all over again; only this time around it was stronger because he didn’t have Veronica, she was like salt on a wound and he tried to focus on Candela.

Everyone was going nuts which was irritating her. Veronica looked at her drink, wondering why she went for virgin. Oh that’s right. Don’t drink and drive. Drinking on semi-empty stomach will ruin her whole day not to mention the fact that her friends are getting under her skin and she just want to scream at them like little kids. Veronica finished her drink in one gulp, placed the glass on the table and looked at the table with annoyance. Everything in her wanted to scream, yell and throw her famous tantrums. However it would have not end well and what didn’t help was hearing clatter of things falling on the floor. Her eyes shot at the items on the floor then followed to Natasha who was shredding marriage certificate. Her sweet friend had turned into little she-devil in the morning. She was putting everyone in foul mood and what she did with Candela’s stuff was high school pettiness.
Veronica’s nose flared, annoyance turned into anger and she was about to yell and throw Natasha out the door. Just as anger came rushing through her veins, calm followed right after. Back of her mind she knew she couldn’t add more fuel to pettiness and tantrum her friend was showing. Veronica didn’t have anything to say to her friend; no words will affect her. She would be wasting her time and energy. Taking couple of steps, she squat down to help Seth and now Catcher, pick up scattered things on the floor and place them in the bag. ”That’s fine. I will drain the pool when I go home tonight. Tomorrow morning we can clean and fill it back up.” She knew the promise Catcher made her and honestly, Veronica didn’t mind if he had backed out if something came up. She would have done it by herself. It was mess she created with giving out ideas and Catcher just made it happen.
She finished putting things up, watched Catcher sling Candela’s bag over his shoulder and left the building. Veronica turned to Candela; ashamed on what to tell her about her friend’s behavior and actions. ”Candi, I’m sorry on behalf of her. She isn’t like this and this is no excuse but she’s going through things. I hope she doesn’t get under your skin and take things personally.” Veronica held Candela’s hand and gave a light squeeze before letting it go and walking out the door. She got what she wanted from the club and Candela however there was something she wanted to do for Candela. Help her get the hell out of douchebag’s place into Catcher’s. If things got complicated at Catcher’s, she would welcome Candela to stay with her at the Cullen’s. She had enough space and she can use the company.
”To be frank, Tash can go home and get out this foul mood. We can carry on with food, tattoo place, make a pit stop at party store, get some silly strings before heading to douchebag’s place. I want to silly string his place while you and Seth put everything in his truck if he’s okay with it.” Veronica had a feeling that Seth wasn’t going to mind. He has been amazing with dealing with Natasha lately. Guess being away, Natasha and Seth got close. She needed Seth to calm her down and to put some common sense into her. Thinking about the Seth and Natasha, she felt guilty about leaving them behind. If she had stayed back, things would have been different but she would have been more hallow on the inside than she was already. Putting up happy face was easier yet painful for her when she was out and about. When she’s alone in her own thoughts, darkness takes over. Veronica got in her car, started the engine and rolled down the window. She forgot how much she loved Catcher in his leather jacket. He was something out of 90s movie with bad boy vibe. ”Alright Mr. Hotshot, we know how much you love your leather jacket. Now get in, loser. We are going on a ride.” She laughed lightly and waited for her friends to get in before leaving parking lot.
Veronica tapped her steering wheel when music started playing faintly in the car. Keeping her eyes on the road, she hoped that one day Natasha and Candela did get along and bury the hatchet. ”I was thinking that maybe we can drop Candela at Catcher’s place so she can rest for a while and us three can carry on with food and tattoo place? I have a feeling I need to bribe the person that did tattoo on us.” Veronica looked at her friends waiting to see what they would say. She licked her lips that were suddenly dry when it hit her that the bet she and Seth had were stupid. They both agreed to same thing and she wanted to hide for a little bit. She wasn’t paying attention when Catcher reminded her and Seth back at the club about the bet. Her coffee probably didn’t kick in and her brain was hazy when the bet was placed. Veronica opened her glove compartment and pulled out two-twenty dollars for Seth; she closed compartment and held her end of bet to him. Veronica knew the minute she started thinking or doing something, she will forget about it.

Tre and Dani watched in shocked as dark haired girl whose name was Tash, dumped all of Candela’s items on the door and ripped marriage certificate. Tre was ready to jump in the group, grab tiny girl and show her to door. Ban her from coming back to Starbutt again. He felt Dani’s hands on him and shook her head at Tre. He was losing his patience with the girl and all of her friends were being nothing but nice towards Candela and each other. Even the point of apologizing to Candela on behalf of Tash. Tre pulled Candela in his arms, giving her a big hug and kissed her temple. He whispered to Candela, “if you ever need anything, I’m one call away. Even if it’s to kick that turd’s ass.”
Candela didn’t know what to think or say when Natasha threw her things on the floor and ripped the certificate like it was nothing. She was thankful in one way that it saved her time and energy however there is another way to handle it. Candela imagined clawing Natasha in the eyes followed by her skin. She wasn’t violent person but when push comes to shove, she might go on killing spree. Maybe not killing but torture. Candela doesn’t have it in her to kill people. Let karma do it’s job. She leaned down to grabbed her cell phone, fighting back tears and wondering what she did to deserve hatred from so many people. She didn’t have time to dwell on hatred or who she wronged when she felt Tre’s arms around her and kissed her temple.
She sighed, relaxed letting whatever she was feeling go and nodded her head against Tre’s chest. He had been nothing but a good friend to her since she had arrived. Candela whispered thank you to Tre and walked behind Veronica. It was partly cloudy when she stepped outside; her eyes adjusting to little bright day and cool air. Goosebumps appeared on her arms and back, making her shiver and yawn even bigger. When sleep takes over, she can’t function properly. Candela went to Veronica’s car, got her car keys out of the bag and unlocked her 2010 black Chevy Camero. ” I truly appreciate you guys helping. You guys can carry on with your adventure.” Candela looked at Seth, Veronica and Catcher and chuckled when Veronica told Catcher to get in.
Candela was over the moon when Catcher agreed on letting her stay at his place with little convincing. She will be forever grateful for him and his friends who are nothing but angels in her eyes. Except for Natasha. She was just out to get Candela for touching Catcher, talking to her friends and it was her idea to think outside of box for costume. Candela only did what she could to make her wish come true. She did not expect it to come bite her in the ass later on. Candela grabbed her two totes and went to her car, opened passenger door and dumped her bags on the seat before closing the door. She turned around with heart so full of friendliness and support from strangers she she met last night. She was throwing caution to the wind at the same time holding herself back. She had been through enough lately; the hatred war that Natasha started was just the beginning of their beautiful enemy relationship.
She walked around her car, got in the driver’s seat and turned on her baby; roaring to life made her smile. This was first purchase she ever made as an adult. Candela wore her seat belt, rolled down her windows and reversed out the parking space and backed up until she was between Veronica’s and Natasha’s car. She could see there was more than Natasha and Catcher being friends or as their big sister as Seth had told her earlier. The way she was acting, it looked more than just friends. Some friends are protective of their friends but never to the point where they are mean to a girl they barely know. Time will tell what the relationship Natasha and Catcher has; and where she fits herself into Catcher’s life.

After she was done ripping up the marriage certificate and Seth told her no ice cream Tash rolled her eyes and looked over at Tre. After picking her own things up off the floor, she gave him the middle finger again and walked out the door behind the others. She knew she was in a foul mood, she was extremely bitchy and didn't want to deal with this Candi shit. She saw Candi as someone who played games. First she was going to leave and then she wasn't. Then she couldn't offer the Catcher then she was, it was mind games Tash hated them. She didn't care her fuck buddy dumped her she didn't loved him humans didn't know what real love was. Most humans never find their soulmates and then find someone and just settle. She didn't know why her friend cared whether it was pissing her off. Her supposed friends catering to Candi when clearly in no more ninety days she was over Raf completely. Tash wished that it would be so easy for her, just forget and move on.
She watched as Catcher grabbed his things out of her trunk and she now remembered putting them in there with him when they were going to go bury him because they thought he was dead. She wishes that she could even go back a few hours till the morning at least Tash was more relaxed then now. "Honestly I don't." She chucked her stuff though he opened the window and it landed on the back seat. She put a hand on Catcher's shoulder." I'm just over this day, go help Candi put her life back together. We all know helping out a stranger and making her a new project for distractions is what you all need. I clearly just can't handle all this." Tears welled up in her eyes and she quickly rubbed them away. She clearly was upset she had been struggling with her problems and to expect one night out to get her out of her depressed state was foolish. Candi had revered her car between her and Veronica's and she could not longer with Candi's car in the way. She put her hand over her roof and waved. "Don't worry I'm going home." She got in her car and looked over at Seth her eyes still holding back tears. He seemed to be struggling to decide what to do.
"You just go with V, we will talk later." She started her engine and started down the road heading back to La Push. She hated being this way, she wished she could have gone along with the others but she really just had the worst of him holding herself together between being either angry or sad. She didn't know what she could contribute to the Candi situation. All Tash wanted was things to be more like the old days hanging out on the beachers after school with no care in the world. A liife before Quil meant everything to her. She knew things would never be like that again for her but she was trying to find a new normal. She thought it would be easier with time but time never really solved problems; it was actions. Next time she sees her friends she has to apologize for her behavior.

Seth followed quickly behind Candi and V as they left the club behind Catcher. He didn't expect his sister to turn into some uncivilized monster today. He ran his hand through his hair looking at Tre apologetically as stopped at the door and waited for Tash; she flipped off the bouncer and began to follow him out. With the plan of the day being derailed by meeting Candi, who Seth actually found quite sweet. He was gathering together all that needed to be done in the next little while. He wanted food but he couldn't hold off until they got Candi all sorted out. He wasn't starving out of everyone who had probably consumed the most this morning between the sandwiches and hashbrowns. He just wanted for everyone to get along, he didn't like how Tash and Candi had started off with each other and all he could wish is next time they met up they get along. He was trying to stay positive himself but all thr moodiness was getting to him also. When Candi thanked then he just smiled. He was always told by many a little kindness can make the world a better place. He remember a day Natasha had once thought the same but she hadn't changed into someone different then she was in high school.
He didn't want to admit it but he was tired of Tash's attitude today too. She was being too much for him to handle, he was used to some snapping from her every once in a while but she always came back around with some coaxing, that didn't even seem to work. He stood by Veronica's car listening as Veronica mentioned Tash going home. He didn't want to be the one to say it first, some time away from all the excitement of today might be what she really needed. Seth shrugged and looked at Veronica and then over at Candi moving closer to Veronica's car she leaned his head close enough to her window for only her to hear. "If she drives me home, I set her right back to hers. Silly stringing a house actually sounds like fun compared to the rest of the day."
Seth stood back up and walked around to the front for the cars and stood close to Tash's giving her a minute as she spoke with Catcher, he could see it written across her face that he was going to take off besides Veronica mentioning it and Catch telling her she could go he knew her well enough she take the out. He felt bad to leave her on her own when she was in such an emotional rollercoaster but he didn't deserve to take on the brunt of it either. He watched Tash got into her car and told him to go with Veronica. Seth just nodded in her direction and walked back over to where V was parked and hopped in the back seat. Natasha took off down the road and the whole mood seemed to shift as soon as she was gone. He tapped his hands on the back of her headrest ready to get moving. " If Candi wants to go to sleep we should drop her off let the girl sleep a bit while we feast. I'm thinking Chinese."

Tomorrow was the plan to return to normalcy. He had nodded sharply at Veronica’s suggestion and continued on his way, not wanting to hear everyone explain Natasha; he wasn’t going to because there was something real about how she expressed her anger and he couldn’t judge her when there was something going on he wasn’t aware of. He was the stranger again, it had only been one night since they all reconciled but that seemed frayed at the edges; making him think he had to try to put everything back in place as he had attempted to during the prom but there would be a time and place for it. She was better left to her own device if nothing he or Seth had done worked.
When he felt Natasha’s hand on his shoulder, he watched her lips move, words reading but not really able to feel any attachment to them; she was fed up and though she tried to make him understand why she was about to leave, nothing she said made sense. They didn’t need to put Candela’s life back together like some pity project; she made it sound as if he was making a mistake before doing anything and he wondered after her departure if there was some forewarning he should take to heart. Candela was harmless in his eyes but he had always valued Natasha’s methods for getting things done at school; she had the life most teenagers dreamed of. The biggest hurdle she ran into was literally only a love problem. Right then she didn’t make them choose but she chose herself over them and his gaze remained until the car was out of sight, slightly forlorn.
A faint smile evolved slowly into a smirk as he stared at Veronica after she cut in boisterously. She reminded him exactly of the moment they met; her in the driver’s seat with her music on, responding to his presence like she was the queen. This time, he didn’t hesitate or be shoved in by Seth and he went to the passenger side, sitting down with a purpose and shutting the door with gusto. His footsteps had traced like a shadow over the template of their past, writing a new layer over the moment; dancing in a movie of their youth.
”Or… we can all stop at mine and then if she hasn’t eaten, we could all get take out like Seth said.” He turned his head to her, seeing if she had any better ideas or some sort of compromise before plopping the back of his hair against the headrest. She may have a better grasp of Candela’s needs than he did and now it seemed like he was the wrong host, a challenge he accepted with some fascination, not mentioning this to Veronica.”Then if she wants to come with us she can too… she’ll need to be there when we get her stuff anyway, might as well get extra silly strings. I don’t know why you think we have to bribe Cloud.”It flowed out, somewhere his memory had registered this eccentric name, possibly because that was the first person they met up with and he was not bananas from the pills yet; watching the man carve his skin repeatedly left quite a subconscious impression. The idea that Veronica wanted to vandalise the place was remarkable; he would have never thought of that or any form of revenge, the prankster in her leading the way.
Today was one full of nostalgia with her and he felt a combination of hysteria when she was near and panic that she wasn’t close to him they way she used to be. His brows flew up as he looked at the visors in the car blankly, pinching his eyes as his brain started hurting again in neural dysfunction. It was telling him that was enough information to dig for and he it stopped working like a lazy bum.
All this was happening as Candela mentioned her thanks and removed the bag from Veronica’s car to bring to her own; confusing him briefly. Then he wanted to just plant his head to the dashboard realising she did drive, closing his eyes, feeling rather juvenile. Making like a bandit with her bag was more out of habit than it should have been, he wasn’t considerate of her; she was a new acquaintance and he fretted that he was too quick to be friendly, something Veronica disliked about him. He was that one of a kind who would have just taken Candela on his bike and left her car where it was entirely, left his friends there to reconvene after but he peeked at the rear view mirror to see Candela with her very proper driving posture and seatbelt on. It made him want to laugh that somehow he wound up with someone like her, a girl he didn’t think belonged at the strip joint and would probably find him intolerable.
”She can sleep if she wants, we’ll see what she says?” This was the issue, making decisions on her behalf when he didn’t know her well enough felt wrong and there was just no way to communicate this but he didn’t live very far and he was currently more thrilled that the three of them were positioned like a blast from the past. ”If I remember correctly, you have to let Seth sing the peg song since you are finally taking us home.”They were supposed to on the way back that afternoon but that never ended up happening; it probably shocked her he still cared about it. It wasn't the song that mattered, it was just that Seth had made it up and banded them together with it on the first day of school; it was Seth who introduced her to him or they would have never spoken. She would have never stopped beside them, never known he existed. Every instance after with her in it, he never forgot. She knew the way to his place, and he was just joking with them but truthfully sentimental; he didn’t even think Seth remembered the lyrics to his own creation, he just wanted to give them a dose of what he had missed. No one else could replace them and they just never saw it themselves.

The hungover group left the club, leaving Tre and Dani behind. Tre locked the door and told Dani he is not opening door anymore. He didn’t want to witness one of customers misbehaving early in the morning. Or rather late for them. Dani finished cleaning bar area, told Tre she is gone for the day and she will see him later that night. Tre went back to his office to wait for next security to come before heading out for the day.
Veronica witnessed Natasha changing her voice when she was talking to Catcher. Her heart tugged and felt horrible for leaving her behind. She was one of Veronica’s oldest friend and she wanted to help her as much as she could. However, Veronica was keeping things together as much as she could. She had to stay neutral and not overreact when everyone is just blank on what happened last night. She was hoping that memory blanks will be filled before they help Candela move from her fuck buddy’s place into Catcher’s. Looking at everyone’s faces, Veronica could tell that everyone was fed up with Natasha’s behavior. It was worse than dealing with hormonal teenager and toddler mixed.
”You’re a good friend Seth. I don’t know how you deal with bunch of hormonal crazed ladies. Myself included.” Veronica chuckled at her own comment. She acted on anger without thinking. She loved to used to words and not care about what people might feel. Heck, after she cooled down, she would find herself feeling horrible on things she said to the person. She was blessed and lucky that most of them were friends who didn’t mind her little outburst. She was handful when she was in high school; now she feels like she’s in somewhat in control of her anger but that could be wrong as well. She’s on auto pilot on most days. She doesn’t want to think, do anything and just sit around, curled up in bed with a book or watch movie mindlessly. ”Get some sleep Tash. Love you!” Veronica shouted at Natasha as she reversed without hitting her car with Candela’s.
Veronica looked at her dashboard, seeing what time it was she figured that tattoo shop won’t be open yet. She will personally make a trip later by herself and apologize to the tatted twig. Her memory of that tattoo artist was blurry but she remembered how he’s a hyper kid who had attention spam and killer tattoo skills. ”Well…now that I truly thought about. We can move her first then we will play it by the ear. I was hungry but now I’m in mood to silly string that asshole’s place.” Veronica rubbed her hands together like a maniac and did a evil laugh only to sound lame when it came out of her mouth. ”I may have silly stringed the shop. I think I also used colored smoke bomb on his hair. It was spur of the moment. Don’t judge me. This is why I shouldn’t be left alone after drinking.” Veronica’s cheek turned bright red, as memory came to play.
She can’t believe she did something like that to a stranger. She hoped Cloud wasn’t too mad about it and she had planned to apologize for her actions. ”Candi, we will move you first. Lead the way.” Veronica watched Candela drive and make a right at the stop sign and followed her. Everyone deserved a second chance at love, happiness and life. But for Veronica, she wants to make her friends happy over hers. She didn’t give a crap about her happiness right now. ”This feels like old times. Bring on the peg song boys.” With three of them in the car, it felt like like old times. The day when she first met Catcher and peg songs. A smile appeared on her lips as her sad thoughts slipped away for the time being.

While the group was figuring out what they wanted to do, Candela yawned and slapped her cheeks to wake her up. The cool morning air wrapped around her, making her feel little cold yet waking her up. Regretting she didn’t have second cup of coffee right now. However that second cup of coffee will have her running around places and not get enough shut eye. She was working that night; truth be told she wasn’t happy about it. She wanted to go back to time where she never met Rafael. It was a mistake that she made by meeting him and moving away from her home.
She watched Natasha leave the parking lot and went her way. Whatever happened that morning, she wasn’t going to let it get to her. Candela had enough things to worry about and her priority was working, school and saving to find a place of her own so she won’t be in Catcher’s way. When Veronica told her they will be moving her first, a relieved sigh left her lips. Candela placed car gear in ‘D’ and drove in the direction of turd’s place. She looked at the clock, hoping that he wasn’t home otherwise he will be surprised that she brought people with her. At this point, Candela told herself it didn’t matter what he had said, what he had done or will continue to do; she wants to focus on herself and not worry about anyone else anymore.
Rolling up the windows as she hit the highway and turned on warm temperature in the car. Candela turned on the radio, listening to forecast for the day. Cold and gloomy. It was no surprise for her. She shook her head and hoped the summer days has more warm weather. It didn’t take long for Candela to arrive at Rafael’s place. She parked her car on the street, got out the car and looked at the driveway. No sign of his car. She raised her arms over her head with a huge grin on her face. It was small victory for her. With Rafael not being home, they could pack and leave as soon as possible. Candela walked towards the door, watching Veronica park her car and getting out as well. She unlocked the house, throwing the door open before walking inside. Candela towards guest room on left side of the house in the corner to where she has been staying.
It had surprised her that despite their relationship, they were sleeping in separate beds. Now, it hit her why they were sleeping in separate beds. He wasn’t interested her in like that and him talking about wanting family was an excuse to get her in bed. Candela didn’t bring much with her; just few bags of clothes, her personal things and her car. Half the bags weren’t open, making her move little easier on them. She placed packed bags out the room door and started filling two bags that were empty with her clothes, shoes and bags. Candela finished packing her things in the bags putting them outside with rest of her things and looked at empty room. Room didn’t have much memory neither did the house. What she had memory of was Rafael and her relationship. She wanted to give the relationship a shot and see new perspective of it.
However this wasn’t how it supposed to be. ”What it’s worth, I hope he finds a girl that will give him hell.” Candela murmured to herself as she opened night stand drawer where she kept silly strings. Taking seven bottles out, she walked out the room with cans in her arms. She placed them on the table in the living room for everyone to use. She wanted to trash the place as much as Veronica did. It was better than goodbye note that she wanted to leave. He will flip shit looking at colorful strings around the house. She shook the can, taking pink cap off and sprayed living room covering sofa, floors and tv. It felt like revenge and being a kid at the same time.

The peg song, the mention of it seemed so far in the past but at the same time felt as if it was almost like yesterday they had talked about it biking to school together. Seth leaded back in the seat and tried his brain for the lyrics but couldn't think about them now. So much had already happened today that he felt just like that it had disappeared at some point to make room for other things like now to rebuild an engine. "The peg song? Shit I can't even remember how it started now. Might just have to make up a new one together...or just make up a song about today." Seth started to think about what had happened earlier, between shower curtains, paper bag dress and a toy dinosaur he could probably make a banger of a song. It made him chuckle the whole transition of the day. This morning seemed more like a fond memory in which he would probably bring up for years to come minus the pierced nipple and wearing a dress. He even thought maybe this year he would give these friends Christmas cards with cover photos that he had on his phone of their night at the club. No one would expect it but maybe they would be better birthday gifts Seth was sure yet. "Whatever you did at the shop, just hope Cloud has a good sense of humor." Hr had heard Catcher mention the male tattooist name who in the end was probably the same guy who did piercings. Hopefully he didn't get weirded out by how hard it would have been to get the needle through his skin.
He turned his head to look out the window as they made their way to where Candi was staying and he bobbed his head trying to come up with a few lyrics to string together. He knew he wasn't the best lyricist; he was a musician who thought it could be that hard. "What do you think of this?" Seth started to tap out a beat trying to make Veronica a Catch laughter like the old days. Seth knew now he had grown up a bit since the both had gone off on their own journeys but he was still a part of him who was the goofy teen they had left behind. "Cheap liquor, strip club, in the morning we wake up like bums. One in a grave, one in the tree, the third one looking like a troll Barbie." Seth shrugged his shoulders, for just a few minutes of thinking it wasn't too bad, he would have asked Catcher to add a few lyrics of his own but they seemed to be pulling up to the driveway behind Candi.
When the car came to a stop Seth got out and walked up to the door behind Candi and stood in the entryway waiting for her to come out with anything she might have needed to be carried out and to hear the car. She came out placing a few bags down and Seth picked a couple up and tucked them under his arms taking them and placed the pink luggage in the back seat of her car. Before popping his head to see if she needed help with anything else. What he saw was her taking out seven cans of silly string. Even he never had that many in his house at once, his mother you have killed him if he ever did.want he was about to join in and do here with the others. " If you have shaving cream you should stick it in his shoes. That was always my favorite prank to play on the guys.Iif he had oreos fill them with toothpaste and eat the cream out of the middle "
