Wearing the one of the rightIt was the beginning of Summer and Raven was as happy as a bee. She had great friends, a hot Native american werewolf boyfriend and her dad was living with her. Life couldn't be better. She was sitting in the living room, reading one of her favorite Indian love novels by Madeline Baker and the girl was just about to give into the Indian. She was imagining it in her head only it was her and Embry. Biting her lower lip, she was caught up in the book as if she was watching a thriller movie. Then, right when it was getting good, she heard something that made her jump and scream. "Dad, if that was you, it wasn't funny!"Raven called out as Max her cat came up and got in her lap to see if she was okay or not.

James was speeding back for the Sterling home, his eyes now a glistening caramel color and his clothes fortunately spotless considering his very recent activities. Tha' deer gave a real good fight... he pondered as the forest suddenly disappeared around him as their house came into view, taking a moment even as the house was flying at him with alarming (for a human) speed to ensure there'd be no evidence to gross out Raven.
Good 'tah go, he announced to himself, looking up just in time to take a sleek leap through their open window, landing noiselessly on the carpeted flooring but still flying at a disguising speed to the doorway to peek in the living room at Raven. Sure, he was a pretty serious guy, all life twists considered: but knowing Raven was alive and well and that she didn't care that he was a vampire had given him his old, occasional knack for deviousness back.
He saw that she was reading- and fairly wrapped up in it, at that- and he couldn't stifle a sneaky grin as, at a similarly silent and invisible speed, he zipped around the corner and, making sure he moved enough that she wouldn't be able to see him, released an ethereally loud hiss to wake the dead.
He saw her give a jump, and that was more than enough as he zipped to the couch, slowing to a visible speed to gently sit beside her on it and give a low, entertained chuckle. "Sorry, Rave," he apologized, still grinning, "couldn't resist. Ya looked like ya were readin' 'bout a cure fr' cancer or somethin', how close you 're payin' attention." He gave another satisfied chuckle, watching the cat casually as it inspected his daughter carefully. "Whatcha readin', anyway, if ya don't mind m' asking?"

Raven smiled softly, as she sighed. Her father was starting to get too much fun from his Vampire powers. He was always sneaking up on her.
"Still wasn't funny."She said, with a pout. Sitting back on the sofa, she went back to the book and found the part she was at only to put a bookmark there.
Then, hearing James ask what she was reading, her cheeks flushed. It was one of those early 90s Native American books that she had ordered off of ebay not too long ago. Her grandmother didn't made. There were a few that she had. She remembered being told that she would read them when her dad was her age.
"Grandma's Native American romance books. I guess being with Embry sparked something in me."Raven said, with a dream look on her face. She was really in love with the Quileute wolf.
