Seth wasn't walk alone long when Veronica appeared behind him. He had not seem her down the beach maybe she was the one with Catcher back there. “Umm I really don’t know what I’m doing with this crapper slapper.” Seth slapped his point tail and laughing. “I'm sorry I don’t know what to call this thing. Sure my fashion scene is on point but hair. I usually have to call in reinforcements.” Seth nudge playfully as the both had decided to wear tie-dyed articles. He was glad to see Veronica again this time he was more equipped to deal with the situation. Last time he was just sober enough to jump in between her and Catcher to cut the tension in the situation.
"Hey don't be sorry, I could have done better and tried finding you." Seth wrapped his arms around Veronica pulling her in for a hug. Seth knew he coukd have never really chased after anyone. He had his responsibility at home he need to take care of, he was a little goofy but he always knew where he was need the most, looking after his mom.
The offer of help was nice but Seth been used to doing many task on his own, “Sure, you can help I can get the barbecue and you can tell me what you and Catcher were doing down the beach.” Seth smirked. “ I would have walked all the way down there but it looked like you two were busy.” She really didn’t get a good look at the girl who was laying on the sand so he only assumed it was her.
Reaching the truck he pulled the barbecue out of the bed with one hand, and grabbed a bag of charcoal in the other. One thing he loved about being as strong as he was it he often shocked the normal people of how much he could lift. It got to a point he had just stopped going to the gym and just ran around the woods as his main exercise plan. "I just assumed you were making up.” He kicked the tail gate closed passing Veronica the bag full of coals carefully not to set anything on her clothes.
It then hit him, she was standing here dressed but the clothes in the sand were completely different. Seth smack himself in the forehead with his free hand. “Err.. sorry that wasn’t you with him down there. Was it?” He kept pace with her and made it down to the fire pit placing the metal object in the sand and sitting down on a log to throw more wood into the fire. “ I could go kick him for you if you like.”
Seth grabbed a blanket and began spreading it out in the sand. He then started pulling food and snacks out of the plastic bags. Setting things out so whomever showed could see the spread and putting get drinks in the cooler with the meat. “He better get here soon, he promised he cook and I’m starving.

At first there was a faint sound and he thought he could hear someone arrive; it may be Seth bringing food but he really wasn’t concentrating. He wasn’t even interested in thinking about the past anymore; he wasn’t interested in anything but his carnal urges. It was rare his mind could shut off… but he couldn’t figure out why trouble haunted him the moment he succumbed to the taste of her. Then he heard quick pattering feet somewhere closing in on him and the rapture of lust began to disintegrate.
Out of nowhere, Veronica speaks and he jerked back, eyes flying open turning to see her; completely caught off guard and mortified. His damp hair swung and he became uncomfortably aware they were both drenched, clothes stuck down to his body saturated and Natasha was barely dressed while Veronica stood towering over them. He slipped his hands off her and realized that even Seth was in the distance walking away toward his car. There was no concept of privacy even on a deserted beach; his passions may have walked into the wrong place at the wrong time but it was too late to salvage anything.
Everything had been seen… he didn’t understand what ‘everything’ meant to either woman who was tearing him apart. The ambiguous nature of things between the three of them meant he wasn’t exactly held accountable for anything; none of them were clear. He was just vague and destructive, incapable of begging for forgiveness. The glances were swift, past Veronica’s legs into the distance then up at her puzzling face. She wasn’t one particular emotion; it was all things mixed together and he swallowed slowly, squinting in listlessness.
Her voice was a nonchalant, flat tone, dripping with contempt; the advice was a trap. There was no way she hadn’t wanted to do throw a wrench in this because she walked over there and tossed these bottles of margaritas beside them. He was taking things too seriously and he bit his tongue; it was unwise to say anything because at their rate he might argue with her.
She may have deterred him from being carried away and he gave her props for that; he still fucking loved her… and he fucking hated it. He was trying everything to kill it now that they were around each other again and it was smothering him; star crossed lovers they absolutely were not. But, he still wanted them to be… there was something desirable in that pain. That was just him.
Seeing her these days was like binging heart shaped pills and he suddenly understood all the girls who told him they’d do anything just to make a name. There was just one thing that scorched all those things in eternal dragon fire and that was the image he always used to tell himself no; Axel and Veronica in exactly the same lip lock, wet rendezvous... It gave rise in him like a laser beam that could cut a crowded stadium in half. What she said was humiliating and crawling under his skin. Not only did it look like he got Natasha involved in something clandestine, he also had no idea what he was doing. As far as he knew, Natasha was never interested in his personality when she had Quil but now they bonded over misery of their former flames; did she know what she wanted now? Did she know what he wanted her to know?
He watched the bottles of margarita as though they would give him a hint while Veronica hastily left to be with Seth. One little bottle rolled and he grabbed it, taking the other one with another hand, he held them together hanging by his fingers; he then held the other hand palm up to Natasha to help her. In the back of his mind, he tried to disregard a suspicion; there was something different he had noticed about Natasha when they kissed; she was not the same girl who had given him a caring peck on the cheek earlier. He needed to just drink his bottle of tequila; these tiny things were not going to get him through this campfire reunion. They had much to do if Seth unloaded more food and random items from his truck; the first thing he had to do was help get things set up, act normal when he wanted to bury himself alive in the sand. Even then, he was trying not to look at Natasha’s provocative body, internally sulking. He sighed and presented her with a relaxing smile as though they had nothing to be awkward about; after all, he couldn’t have passed it up and that was not on her.
”Seth… Did you buy out the grocery store?” He said in a paced cadence, loud enough it would reach him to cut in as he led Natasha back to the campfire; gathering himself as his footprints trailed to a halt and he let go of her hand with a customary squeeze of communication. There was nothing to say about what Seth walked in on, and he just patted his brother on the shoulder, observing all the items that he had laid out, with amusement; it could feed an entire pack. He was unaware that Seth had mistaken Veronica to be with him but felt some prickling mistake weighing his pal down.”You did good…” His eyes met Seth’s and mirth returned as he grinned, tight lipped about what he imagined happened at the shop; Seth’s trolleys holding up the cashier line for more than half an hour. ”I’ll get started… but first…” He let Seth continue doing what he was, meaning to help or take over after he dealt with something.
Catcher walked over to his stash of the opened tequila he didn’t get a chance to drink, picked it up and went to Veronica, dropping one of the margaritas between his fingers on the ground, holding the remaining bottle out at her. The rascal he was had dodged a bullet without knowing; she would have kicked him herself if she wanted or dropped these glasses on his head but he didn’t mean that much to her anymore. If anything, he was the only one taking it all so badly that even if he stayed with her here now, nothing would change; he was going to play with her as the unrequited self he chose to be years ago. ”To whatever this is… gonna be...” He clanked his own tequila against the bottle in dainty exaggeration and saluted her with the drink in silence, letting the gold liquid flow more than a few shots worth; his eyes looking at her with unspoken mockery. Duality in his words; he hoped to get through her, past her guard. Tonight they would all share their world as dreamers.

Natasha felt like she was in a hole new world, it as she had awoken from a drug induced coma. For the first time in ages she felt like she had nothing holding her back, on fears, no thoughts, no ambitions. She was living for the moment.
Feeling Cather’s lips on her she never knew life could be so exciting. She before was shrouded in a cloud of darkness that fate had chosen for her. She took control, her heart had stopped, she had died and came back. There was nothing there any longer tying her to someone else no feeling or thought about him at all. She did even want to say his name in fear things would go back to the way they were before. She had a new sense of freedom she wasn’t going to let it get away.
She hear some foot steps coming in her direction but she couldn’t escape all that just happened. She was laying there wet plastered with sand in nothing more then a few well sown together pieces of fabric that cover her most intimate parts of her body. Usually Natasha didn’t even like to be seen like this but now she didn’t care. A pair of feet had appeared eye level to her and Tash pulled herself up to a seated position. She wasn’t even able to tell Veronica what had happen. Why should it matter she had her chance with Catcher should her see him be kissed even matter? Veronica dropped to drinks, and walked just as quickly as she came. She would have usually apologized for being seen in such and awkward situation but there was no apologies to be made. She had done nothing wrong.
Taking Catcher’s hand, Natasha held is and followed him all the way back to the campfire. She picked up he clothes in the sand on the way. Getting closer to Serh set up Catcher let go of her hand. Natasha took the opportunity to get dressed again still kind of letting things rewire in her head. She could still feel the adrenaline pumping in her body but was unable to know how to harness it.
Instead of saying much she walked over the cooler and pulled out a can of soda drinking half of it down quickly and then refilling it all the way to the top with vodka Seth had brought along.
Sitting down at a log by the fire she looked over at Seth and then to Veronica. Unsure if she should tell them about what they had missed before they showed up. She then decided against it. Its not everyday you could die, come back and have a party right after. …to whatever this is.. Catcher’s toast was great but it need something more. She lifted her can of vodka and soda into the air. “To new beginning, true friends and having some fucking fun.” She downed a good portion of her drink letting it fuel her insides with fire, she was really ready to party. Hopefully there was enough alcohol around to share.
Tash picked up a twig and threw it at Seth hitting him soft in the back of the head . “Pass the marshmallows will ya.” She rooter around for a near by sick they often used by the fire to roast the delicious little clouds of goodness on. Finding one long enough she poked it into the fire to burn off tip long enough to clean it. “she found her eyes on Veronica again, “Nice hair cut.”

They kissed. Why wouldn’t they? Why is it bothering me when it shouldn’t? Veronica was in the present but her mind wasn’t it. She was letting the kiss bother her when she told herself multiple times not to let anything get it in the way. Her mind was running with thoughts of Catcher and Natasha hooking up at the beach for everyone to see. If they end up being a thing, she would be happy for them but she would be hurt at the same time. Veronica was too sober for this and needed a drink or a whole bottle of tequila in her. Last time she had whole bottle of tequila, it did not end well for her. She blacked out, barely remembering a thing but next day she ended up waking up with a dick drawn on her forehead with a permanent marker. That too in neon pink. Like everyone when they get drunk and next day they say they won’t drink anymore…Veronica did the same. It only lasted 12 hours maybe less.
”How about chop it off, get a decent haircut with side fade? It’ll look nice on you. It wasn’t your job or anyone’s rather to look for me. I went willing but only mistake I made was falling off the face of the Earth.” Veronica felt horrible for being selfish years ago and she’s figuring out how to make it up with everyone. The scene at the prom did not help her case; she fears she may have caused more drift between her and her friends especially Catcher. Only time will tell… Veronica didn’t tell anyone that she had imprinted on Axel and why she had left town in a rush. Everyone is battling their own demons and no one knew that they were. Veronica didn’t have friends, she has family who she trusts and chose not to burden them with her issues. She somewhat zoned out Seth as pulled out barbecue and bag of charcoal bag. ’I just assumed you were making up.’ Veronica turned her head slight, clueless as to who she was making up with then it her. ”um…that…hmmm” She didn’t know how to tell him that it was her and Catcher making up but rather Natasha and Catcher. She held bag of coals as she walked beside Seth; her emotions were coming in waves-happy, sad, angry, content...she couldn’t pin point which emotion she was feeling. ”Don’t be sorry. It was Natasha and Catcher. And no, you don’t need to kick him. He is your friend and truth be told both of them deserve to be happy. Least I can do is be happy for them…if they do end up being in a relationship.” Veronica placed her cooler and bag of coals in the sand and helped Seth pull out all sorts food and snacks out.
”Just so you know, I’m going to be eating half of your food tonight. You bought enough to feed a family of 10 or more.” Having wolf genes meant they can eat without worrying about gaining weight, no bloating feeling and best of all…they can burn all the calories they inhaled by running in the woods. She remembered a time, right before she phased for the first time, she told the boys she had to watch what she eats even if she smells desserts she would gain five pounds. She cared about having perfect outfit, how she present herself to the public eye, having fun, what she ate, and not creating scenes in public. Now, she can eat all she wants, workout, wear what she feels like wearing (mostly sweats or baggy clothes), still cares about how she presents and carry herself and does not care what other has to say about her. It’s gossip and everyone lives for those nowadays anyways. Veronica opened unzipped her cooler and got bag of pretzel out, opened it and pop couple in her mouth. Pretzels were her favorite, reminds her time in elementary school eating small pretzels with apple juice; a time where she or anyone had to worry about.
Veronica stood in the corner of the beach blanket that was laid out and watched the waves crash into the shore. It was relaxing and peaceful. This is what she wanted to do and got some more…time with friends. She’s uncertain about being back in La Push, scared if she opens up she will be vulnerable and she needs to stay strong. Veronica turned around when she heard Catcher and Natasha has joined them. A friendly smile formed on her lips when she saw Catcher coming towards her with two tequila bottles. She took bottle that had offered her and nodded. Veronica clanked her bottle with Catcher’s during a toast. ”To being reunited once again and booze.” Veronica smiled to her friends and downed half bottled fluid, burning her throat in the process that felt good. ”You would think that the amount of alcohol I..er..we drink, our throat and body would be immune to burning sensation by now but sadly it’s not.” Veronica took off her shoes, placed them on the sand, and sat on the blanket with legs in front of her. The cool air felt nice against her warm skin. ”Thank you. And I’m sorry for being a creep back there. I didn’t know you and Catcher are a thing. Also, sorry for crashing ya’lls barbecue. I have margarita bottles and pretzel. And I have more alcohol in my car if we run out.” Veronica feels bad for crashing and being a creep when she walked past them kissing. If she knew that she would run into them, she would’ve bought more than margarita bottles and pretzel. It was supposed to be her snack-dinnerish. Some days she didn’t have appetite and some days she could eat like there’s no tomorrow. It was balance for her. She chugged remaining Tequila, feeling her body loosening up and warming her even more than she was.

His brows rose swiftly, as she accepted the margarita bottle and clunk it back ,then creased in a perplexing stare at Natasha; it was at the same moment he noticed they were each toasting but she was already a ton more excited about things than he could imagine. Well, that’s all new alright; they were definitely not children anymore. He looked between the two women and drank again, holding up the bottle in cheers to Natasha as she held her vodka, before backing away, aiming to go to Seth.
Many times he would almost go into cardiac arrest this evening; Veronica began to apologise about intruding on their spontaneous kiss and he felt a flame of colour reach his face. He tried to distract his own thoughts by replaying what trivial things were being said before this particular sentence.Everyone was talking about hair? Catcher rubbed the back of his head in boyish awkwardness before running the hand along the sides to make the half wet, half dry lengths go in the same direction past his ear. Technically, Veronica wasn’t speaking to him about being a couple; that was directed to Tash and he was glad not to have to answer because he honestly had nothing satisfactory for her inquiry. It was better to leave the two good friends to their own time. And, he had almost said no they were not a ‘thing’ but that would be self-sabotage. Not to mention, he remembered Seth mentioning someone named Justin so now he had to get in line. If he wasn’t careful, he was going to end up asking about that guy and the other guy to Veronica in their little friendship circle intervention.
”No, it’s great you came… we can’t even finish all this food… the more the merrier.” He gave her a strange smile and walked to the grill to check it, then the ripped the bag of charcoal they had moved beside it to pour the contents in. It was dusty, black and in the shape of briquettes, which made it easier to light and stay constant; he began to rearrange the cubes into a stack so that they would remain burning for a long time. This is a lot more straight-forward than the stone-age thing he had been doing to the idle bonfire. Clapping his hands together to dust off the soot, he squeezed a small amount of lighter fluid into the crevices of the pile and then stuck the lighter gun into it to, creating a sudden flash of fire.
”Seth, do we have oil?” Digging amongst the bags of stuff Seth brought, he finally found the bag with grill tools and laid them on the cooler box full of fresh meat, holding onto a rubber brush. ”Nevermind, you were not kidding when you wanted to feast” Saying so, he pulled out a whole watermelon, pensively tapping it for ripeness and chuckling before letting it plop on the sand, finding the bottle of oil. ”You know what… I’ve never tried sticking a bottle of vodka into the melon so it all just becomes alcohol.” Opening more bags, he unpacked sauces and marinades as well as random snacks and desserts he had never purchased before they even had cake and ice cream. He tossed the bags and boxes of things toward where the log was so Natasha and Veronica could grab them if they wanted; they didn’t have a table aside from the foldout attachment to the barbeque and he was going to need it.
”Open some of those things if you want…” Announcing, he was addressing the girls loudly so they wouldn’t end up wondering why he didn’t tell them there were things they could start eating already. He poured oil onto the brush and painted the entire grill top so it was shiny and dripping into the flames, causing snaps and crackles in the heat. He spotted the bag of marshmallows and thought he would go steal one after Natasha roasted it. Before unscrewing a water bottle to drink half of it and pour the rest onto his hands, he looked at all the burger buns and remembered Seth had wanted them; it appeared they could eat all the steak, ribs and food in the world but he would have to put these on first.

Seth took a second to think about Veronica suggestions. A side fade, it might actually work for him.” As long its not one of those stupid matching buzz cuts Sam made all of us guys get. Everyone of us look pretty stupid .” with the matching tattoos and haircuts they looked more like a cult then a wolf pack. “Were basically family V, I could have found you if I wanted I just thought maybe you just need space.” Seth had gotten used to giving people space, sometimes people just needed time on Thierry own to figure themselves out. This was more critical when so many could hear you thoughts on a daily basis if you couldn’t block them out.
A surprised looked came across Seth's face when he heard it was Tash and Catcher back there. He had only offered to kick him to make Veronica laugh. He had known Catch had been crushing on her but she never was really open about anything besides wanted to still be with Quil. “ I wonder if she hit her head and knocked some common sense into it. She’s been pining over Quil for so long she never allows anyone in..Well besides Justin but he just up and disappeared on her too.”
Looking down the beach he could hear Catcher ask if he bought out the whole store. Seth was still in shock of how things were going down at the moment. His two closest friends kissing on the beach it just was a little weird for him. He kept fiddling with things trying to keep busy not wanting to seem like he was being nosey.
His face fell back to Veronica as she mentioned all the food she could eat. “As long as you don’t eat all the burgers ill be fine.” Seth chucked he had brought enough food for all but burgers had always been his favorite cookout food. He cod eat so many burgers it often scares his mother if he would best her out of house and home.
Natasha and Catcher then join them at the beach and toast with alcohol began. Seth just picked up a can of pop to toast as he hadn’t starred to even think about pouring g himself a drink yet. He was too preoccupied by the food. The idea of putting vodka in the watermelon was a pretty good idea though Seth thought it probably take way to long to actually set up. “I rather just cube up the watermelon mix it with the vodka and drink it straight. Probably taste better.” Seth was hit in the back of the head by a little sick, it was Yash requesting the marshmallows. He picked up the bag and tosses it at her to catch.
Seth smacked Catcher in the back and smiled weakly knowing something happened between him and Tash down the back. “Made a move huh? You think she into you?”

Natasha was sitting back down when a bag of marshmallows tossed her way she caught them with one hand saving her drink it the process. She placed her can down in the sand next to her feet before placing a marshmallows on the sick and roasting it, avoiding eye contact with Veronica not knowing now to really proceed. “Really its fine.” She watched as the marshmallows started to brown slightly turning her stick to it didn’t burn.
“That was my fault. I just jumped off the cliff.” She didn’t want to tell Veronica that she had drowned and if it wasn’t for Catcher she may had been dead. “You know how euphoria can take over right? Just look at him I couldn’t resist.” She pulled the marshmallow out of the fire and grabbed it lightly between her fingers before popping it into her mouth. She never thought she see Catcher as anymore then a friend but her with her first breath back the whole world felt different. She kept looking over in his direction not knowing whether he’d reject or not if she tried anything again.
Tash rested the stick on the side of the log so that the little sticky residue would be cover in sand. “I’m actually glad you’re here V so I don’t have to tame these two myself.” She was still letting the events after prom leak back into her mind. She never wanted to wake up like that again, dressed in a paper bag and her hair being barley salvageable. There was still colors in her hair that were not fading out fast enough.
Catcher had tossed a few snacks and her direction and she automatically went for the bag of gummy bears. She ripped open the package and pulled out a few green ones. She held the package over to Veronica to see if she wanted any. She cased the gummy bears down with a drink of her vodka soda. She could already fell a slight buzz coming on it could have been the lack of oxygen from earlier.
A part of wanted to tell Veronica that she would back off if she liked Catcher, but a another part the new part of her wanted him for herself. She genuinely like Catcher and they were friends it would be nice for things to be more she wanted more of him. She watched as he and Seth fiddled over the barbeque. “ It's nice to see the guys cook for once.".Tash laughed before placing another marshmallow at the end of her sick and roasting it up nicely.
She pulled the marshmallow off, walked over to Catcher and popped the sugar gooey snack into his mouth. She licked the remainder off her fingers, while staring at his face."Pretty good eh? Do you want some more?" She bit he lip awkwardly and looked him up and down."Because I know I do." She placed her arms around his shoulder and pulled him close. "Thanks for everything back there.I hope you didn't mind..your just so good to me."

Catcher unsealed the ground beef patties and flipped them onto a plate, then found all the vegetables that Seth had bought and pulled out a knife to cut them. Listening to what Seth wanted, he grabbed the watermelon and sliced it in half, seeing what colour it was and thinking about how to talk to his friend in the most unforced way possible.
He was preoccupied, not wholly productive enough to focus on one thing at a time; he left the knife stabbed in the watermelon and began opening the seasoning herbs for the patties so he could sprinkle it over meat patties. His attention span was improving the longer he blocked out wonderment about what happened with Natasha. Laying as many patties as would fit half the grill, figuring Seth was a cookie monster for burgers, he felt the smack to his back and woke up from the haze he was in. He inhaled and held it, still deciding what to answer as he looked back at his friend then to the sky, sighing. With the tendency to be dismissive of talking about Natasha, he was just restricting himself as he had always done, so used to not pursuing her. So adapted to not being able to talk about this particular relationship, he began compartmentalizing that the kiss was meaningless, that she was bound by the imprint; just a scared girl being a nice girl, glad to survive. ”Honestly, I don’t know... she’s probably still in love with Quil, and it was just a spur of the moment thing.“
Should he mention that she drowned? That he almost couldn’t revive her; he couldn’t even put that into words because it sounded certifiably crazy when they lived like no one could ever die.”She seems better today… that’s probably all it is.”Their conversation and pinky promise rang bells in his mind that maybe she did it all to turn into someone else. He turned his head to see Natasha with Veronica by the fire talking, and inside he scuffled against starting from the beginning; she was so alive, boisterous and acting like nothing had happened to her. There was a chance she wanted it this way and he wouldn’t want to open a can of worms after a few drinks; they would probably have issues to fight about all night and nobody wanted that so he tried to play it off.
His eyes met Seth’s, searching for some sort of knowledge he was missing because Seth probably knew Natasha’s circumstances even about people other than Quil and where she ever stood with them as friends. He wasn't doing himself any favours trying to hide things from his best friend, who was also sharp minded enough to notice his manner of speech changing so he relented.”Ok, actually, she kissed me… I kissed her too… but I can’t figure her out. I would tell you if I knew what’s going on. You tell me if you notice anything.” He had always just spent time with her without considering anything from her perspective; she was an enigma and he faithlessly spoke. Only one move would ever work on her and that was being born as Quil. There was no way he was going to ask her what it was about, he just needed to make it through the night with both girls he cared about, potentially coming together against him; Hyper aware of Veronica's presence.
Squeezing a tong, he flipped the patties and took the softened butter from a jar to smear onto the buns so they could be baked too. It really doesn’t matter unless she wants it to… He eyed the buns, impatiently checking that they had turned golden from melting the sweet cream; it was slowing the process as he kept picking it up in a fidget so he yanked the knife out of the watermelon again and just started cubing it. Picking up a piece of square, he ate it and pushed some across the board with the side of the knife towards Seth so he could snack.
”The pack would go berserk again if I tried anything with her. I don't exactly have nine lives.” It was all along the same train of thought, and he quietly guffawed, stuffing more watermelon into his mouth, lightening up to Seth, knowing how his luck appeared to be. Years ago, Veronica was the taboo but it didn’t change that Natasha was just as taboo; both Quileute daughters were somehow sacred to the pack and their fates were never meant to intertwine with his. That was made clear as day. Seth would figure it out why he let Veronica go all this time. ”You want me to grill the onions so it’s caramelized?” They were burger filler and sometimes, he would grill the tomato slices too since he was a fan of char.
Sand shifting behind him, he turned to encounter Natasha right in front holding out a roasted marshmallow, feeding it into his mouth gently. It was so impressively well done it just melted into sticky sweetness and didn’t burn. Swallowing it slowly, his eyes were widely staring into hers, rounded and startled as he remembered he did want to eat these; managing a meek answer to her while the marshmallow bought him time. ”…Yea, I was just going to get some…but, more would be nice…” As soon as he replied her he realized he too meant a double entendre and internally cringed for what he didn’t want known to anyone but Natasha as he watched her suck her fingers clean.
Averting his stare, transferring into an earnest, confused languishing expression in love, sex and grief, he covered his mouth loosely with a hand; subconscious desires spilling over into his words. A time he was this terrible at advances did not exist; he didn’t deal with advances, this was a quiz he couldn’t pass, this was not knowing the code word to something exclusive. This was failing a sphinx’s riddle and being eaten alive. When she hung onto him, he felt like he was upside down, SOS signals in his own body language as his eye line flickered between her suggestive gaze and biting lip, which he could still feel on his own; provocative enough he hoped Seth did not see what he did, standing right next to him. It was surrealism at its finest, risqué and tempting something indelicate and racy within him, glad not to be alone with her but regretting it too.
He shut his eyes tightly for a second, brows repositioning to relax as he provided her the least impulsive reaction available. Catcher softened his whole demeanour for her; there was something in that moment only he could do to put them all at ease, just behaving regularly and accepting it as it came one tackle at a time. ”I don’t mind anything you do, you know that… Just don’t dive again… without me.” Tenderly smiling at her, he laughed faintly as he spoke, inwardly swearing to himself he was never going through watching any of his friends potentially die ever again, the horrors of that predicament under the façade of support; overcoming her unusual, unsettling forwardness with their shared secret. He put an arm around her in return, to pull her into a light hug from the side, a faraway look in his eyes when he let go and faced her again, closely so the question was brushing past her ear intimately; partially curious, concerned with how she was feeling, partially afraid of the answer. partially seduced.”Tash, something wrong? I’ll always be good to you…”Rhetorical questions were so sensible he never counted on anyone answering whenever he threw them around and he teased her with reassurance drawing away and resuming the same volume he was at previously. He had taken that her gratitude was for pulling her out of the water but was she worried about something? It was between asking her where her words were coming from and why. ”You’ve always been good to me too... Can’t promise I’d make as good of a s’more marshmallow though.”

Veronica was having mixed feelings about being at the beach with them, being back in town and it was constant battle with her. She hated herself to leaving everyone behind, she hated the fact that there’s awkwardness around her and her friends. She had changed over the years and she can tell that so has friends.
Seth was still the same, optimistic, cheerful, kind and childish. Seth was like a younger brother for her, she loved how he was childish and mature at the same time. He always knew what to say at the right time. Natasha was head over heels for Quil, opened kissing booth just to get his attention, which she and Veronica ended up kissing, had next door girl vibe going on according to Veronica’s eyes. Now, she was more of a risk taker, daredevil, wants to be her own person and still this friendly person. And Catcher, he was and still his her forbidden fruit. First thing that had caught her eye about him was his wittiness, badboy, his contagious laugh, the way he carried / carries himself, and a friendly loving person. At that time, she thought he was a player, flirty personality, shady, irritating, and all the girls were after him, including herself. Now, he has matured, still has that bad boy look going on, but deep inside, she knows he’s a softy who needs some loving and amazing times.
”I cannot guarantee I won’t eat all of them. I may eat all of it. But we shall find out.” Veronica smiled at Seth. Everyone on the pack has a big appetite and they will eat a month worth of groceries in a week or less. Listening to Natasha talk about what happened prior to her and Seth getting there, Veronica got up from her place and hugged her friend. She felt for her, she doesn’t have to go through same experience as her to know what she was feeling. She was just glad, she was alive and Catcher being there to save her. ”I’m relieved that you are alive. You are not cliff diving again by yourself.” Veronica pulled some gummy bears out of the package that Natasha had and ate them. As much as she loved gummy bears, she hated how much she had to chew just to swallow those suckers. She sat next to her friend and looked ahead, ”Tash, that’s between you and him. If you two are a thing, I will be over the moon that someone finally was good enough for you and him.” This was Veronica being her, loving, selfless and trying to be a good friend. Their happiness means the world to her. Whatever they decide, she would be happy.
She broke her attention from water crashing on the shore to boys who were barbecuing. She never thought that Catcher and Seth would cook and the girls would sit around, drinking, talking and eat. It was literal heaven for her. Well for all the girls. ”It’s bittersweet to be back for me. With you around, I’m sure we will create more havoc with the boys.” She watched as Natasha walked toward Catcher and their bubble. They made a lovely couple, if they are one, and she could tell that they were right for each other. Maybe, he rubbed off on her and making her this girl next door gone rouge. Though, it will be a good change for Tash and Catcher. Boozy watermelon or any fruit actually sounded like a fantastic idea. She never tried it before but she will. She loves, food, booze and sleep. What more can she ask for? ”We can have boozy watermelon for dessert with ice cream. I can feel my mouth watering from the thought.” She rubbed her hands together and did a Carlton dance, swinging her hips and arms from side to side. It was her happy dance in a way.
”Grilled onions and tomatoes for me. They taste so much better when they’re charred. Adds more flavor.” Veronica got up from her seat and walked to where everyone was standing. She grabbed bottle of margarita, opened it and chugged good amount. If she were to get through the event with Catcher being there, she needed all the booze she can get. Things didn’t work out for her and Catcher like she had hoped it would nor did it work out with Axel and her. After leaving, she started drinking more and more just to dull the pain in her heart and quiet her mind.

Seth listened to Catcher as he began cooking and talking about Natasha. Sure her and Quil were a thing she could help with, it would be easier to swear a vampire off of eating humans than to break an imprint. "Quil's been gone for a while actually. Something about feeling guilty he ruined her life or something because he imprinted on Ellie. Some weird shit went down here man." He took a small step away from the barbecue because the smoke was burning his eyes.
Looking back at Veronica and Tash, he saw them bonding and heard something about her jumping on a Cliff and getting pulled into a hug. Hearing she jumped actually shocked him. " She jumped off the cliff and she kissed you. None of those things sound like the Tash I know. Are you sure she didn't hit her head?" Seth remembered how she was acting after the last night of drinking. It was nothing like this she was pouting most the morning after waking up in a bush dress and the rainbow beast. Something was different and sure they were friends but Seth didn't want to dig too deep into anything. Tonight was a night just for them to enjoy and hopefully remember unlike the last. “I’d worry less about the pack, and just be happy for a bit, I’v got you back if anyone messes with you. The pack is full of so much drama already most don't even know their head from their asses.”
The smell of food as it sizzled on the hot metal gill was making Seth's stomach rumble so he walked over to the blanket to grab a bag of chips. Tash walked past him and fed Catcher a marshmallow. She was being extremely flirty and it was way out of character for her to act like this. She wasn't even drunk yet. It almost made him wonder if the gummy bears were laced with something. Not wanting to interrupt he walked beside Veronica and threw his arm over her shoulder. Pulling her close after she opened and chugged another partial bottle of the pre-made margarita. He quickly grabbed the bottle out of her hand and finished what was left. “V I know these things are delicious but you need to slow down a bit until I can catch up a bit.” Seth had every time he had seen Veronica she had been drinking and he was getting a little concerned for his friend.
It was strange for Seth to be acting responsable he was the youngest one of the group. He wasn’t worrying about what others were up to at the time. He knew while he was still being and acting like a child they were all going through things that he couldn't understand. Back then He was dealing with his grief of his father's death and getting back to himself. He is glad back then it was all he had to deal with.
The first of the burges looked done and Seth grabbed the fipper and slid it into a bun. “If you're going to eat them all V,I'll get the first one.” He stuck out his tongue in her direction.

Raf finished work and headed to La Push beach. After a long day at work he headed over the beach just to run up and down along the shore. He had just moved to town recently taking over his uncle’s antique store and costume shop. Doing such work was not his dream but he inherited the place and it actually made good money. What he enjoyed doing was hitting up beaches and going surfing. Here the waves were not good enough for a surf but swimming here was like strength training.
The sky began to dim and he realised he should be heading toward home for the evening. Running into the water he allowed it to swallow his body, soaking all of his clothing making them cling tightly to his over muscular body. His white t-shit gave a glimpse to what he was hiding below his unconventional work attire. His broad shoulders pulled at it tingly allowing his muscular torso to reveal the magic that he called his body. He was one of those natural genetic jackpot winners, he didn’t have to hit the gym on a regular basis to have the body of a greek god.
When he had finished his swim he walked back out of the water, his body glistening from the droplets that still held on his rippling muscles. Farther up the beach he could see there were a few people having a bonfire. Out of curiosity he decided to investigate. He jogged up closer and as he did he could see the silhouettes of four bodies. Two of them from a distance looked appealing to him so he kept walking. As he walked closer he could see a shorter girl who looked like she was flirting with a guy so he dismissed his attention for her automatically.
There was a second female there, this one was taller than the other standing near a younger guy grabbing a burger. They looked like they were having fun but this girl with her golden brown skin looked a little lost in her own world or maybe she was a little drunk. Raf could see a bunch of empty liquor bottles in the sand. Knowing that you can only miss one hundred percent of the shots you don't take he decided to walk up to this exotic beauty. Pullin a pen out of his wet pocket, she grabbed the girl's hand and wrote down his number. “ Hey Babe you ever want to have a real good time call me.” and with that he was gone

She was feeling strange like for once nothing in her life right now was missing. It had been so long since she had felt this happy. Here she was on the beach with three people she was proud to call her friends. She could tell Veronica had changed like the past few years had matured her. She could remember standing in at the track talking about how she liked Catcher and now Veronica was telling Tash it would be ok if they got together. Tash didn't even know what to think about this at the moment. All she knew now was she now saw something different in Catcher, he had always been so nice to her but had always been so hot?
She had realized she left her drink back were she had been and went back to retrieve it. Down the beach she could see someone walking up the beach. There was nothing strange about this, maybe I was someone else from the pack coming to join them. She returned her attention back to her friends drinking her liquid courage.
The food smelt great and it was making her stomach rumble. She hadn't eaten much today, hadn't had the need. So the vodka was making her feel a little light headed. Looking over at Catcher flipping the food on the grill she knew food would be done soon. She quickly finished off her drink and placed the can in the trash. She knew she had to slow down the drinking and eat something soo or she would end up stripping completely naked and end up skinny dipping. She smirked just thinking about it. She never thought she would do something like that, at least the old her wouldn't. She didn't care about what others would think about her now.
Walking back over to the cooler she grabbed the vodka and drank a mouth full of it straight from the bottle feeling the burn as it slid down her throat. "I don't know if you would want to join me after we eat but skinny dipping sounds like a great idea."
As she spoke the random guy from up the beach came in and wrote his number on Veronica's hand. This man was dripping wet and gorgeous. He had the body of one of those DC comic books, super built shoulders and even more muscles then she thought physically possible. Natasha just bit her lip and watched him walk off. "Wow, now that's a man, you better call him V if you don't I will..for you."

Looking at her from where he stood, he was in a distant space of his mind, unlocking part of his soul that had cherished the memories of her. Veronica surprised him with her preference of grilled onion and tomatoes; he had only a moment ago thought to himself that was better. She had also suggested mixing liquor into ice cream and he steadily gazed at her as she danced, faintly smiling to himself, lost in the translation of how much he used to enjoy her company. She was inglorious, weighed down by whatever had happened to her in the time he was gone; unaware of what had transpired in his life. This was the last version of her he had hoped to someday see; he had trusted the pack and Axel to take care of her for the rest of her life. Enough to ruin his own. She would have likely married and on track with school, work, life, children; things he hoped for her. Where did their blood oath stand, if he had obliged to leave her alone only for her to become so unhappy; if he had to go, they were supposed to keep her fire alive forever.
”I know…” To Seth, that is what he would tell. He did know that he was once more, his best friend, they were once more kids; that came with the same responsibility as before, not leading him into trouble. There was nothing to worry about with the pack; his deal was done so his time would never come. He also no longer cared, the way he lived; where he was headed. Seth’s life was worth more than his; on the outside, he would let his kid brother be as protective as he wanted. ”And, No she didn’t hit her head. She practically died.” His voice was steady and uninvolved, giving in to the factuality of events, just giving that reality no more of his emotional turmoil; he had expired it all over her near death. ”You should just make th-“ Nearly finishing, he stopped as Seth rushed over to stop Veronica from drinking more than she already had; it was too late but it didn’t matter to him. He was in the same boat, the back of his brain thinking about more tequila to get through the night with her.
He picked up the rings and slices of vegetable and laid them on the grill. Replacing the buns with them as those were set out to the side, ready for combining as Seth reached over and took a patty off to smash into nothing but bread; ignoring the lettuce and the rest of the ingredients, including sauce of any kind. Taking the tongs from Seth, he removed the rest of the patties so they would all have an even rate of completion and glanced back at Natasha. ”Tash, you’re eating all those gummy bears, come get a burger… Seth just wants to eat all the meat.”What Seth had confirmed was a tragic end to the Natasha he knew, he hadn’t seen Ellie since he was back but he hadn’t checked for her at Forks either; if Quil had left, they probably moved somewhere together to his dismay. The last thing he wanted was to come between an imprint and that stood true even with Veronica; it was nothing more than a curse for him.”I’ll just put steak on now since Seth’s gonna eat everything…”
No sooner had he spoken, a bronzed, tanned and burly man jogged into view. He hadn’t noticed anyone else around, being cooked in front of the grill with the food as the flames of the bonfire made them a glowing beacon in the gradient darkness that had fallen. This tall, built and tattooed man was rugged yet unusually tropical for where they were. He seemed to have made a calculated intrusion as he strode directly to Veronica, uttered some corny line and gave her his phone number. Catcher stared with eyes so focused they could penetrate flesh to bone. Total cynicism and quizzicality on his face as his mouth parted slightly and his brows were so furrowed they were just ticking straight lines.
It took him a second to remember he had to remove the onions and tomatoes before they sizzled to a crisp, and he hurriedly did so, clumsy as he didn't want to miss what might progress; still trying to look back at the strange encounter, the dripping monstrosity of a man walked away as quickly as he arrived. Blinking in confusion, he started laying the toppings and burger into layers, so two were on paper plates, unsure if he could eat right then as he walked towards the girls as they enthusiastically peered after the sea god’s behind. When he reached them, he held a plate to Natasha so she could have it while she excitedly convinced Veronica to call the stranger and extended the other to Veronica; also trying to see if there was even a shadow left of the exotic man. His lips traced an inaudible wow to no one as he mimed Natasha’s earlier exclamation unconsciously, walking back to his bottle of burning alcohol, thoroughly entertained everyone’s reactions. Taking it to the grill and drinking it straight, he laid out the slabs of steak Seth had chosen and made his own burger, fixing on Seth as he appeared just as intrigued as the girls.”You might as well all call him and see what happens.” They made him want to laugh so hard but his expression remained unamused as he took a bite and chewed after suggesting, trying to eat as casually as possible until he couldn't help but smirk. "Or you can chase him down..."

”Hey!” She scowled at Seth when he took her half finished margarita bottle and finished. She wasn’t going to admit that he was right and she’s also aware of the fact that she has to drive home. Even though she could just stay at the beach until morning and watch the sunset. She was going back to an empty house. There were times where she would rather stay out than in just so she doesn’t feel lonely. ”You aren’t over 21 mister. There shouldn’t be any catching up. Not to mention you wouldn’t able to keep up.” She winked at Seth and popped piece of tomato in her mouth. When did Seth became a mature person and everyone turned irresponsible. She thought to herself. Seth really did impress her not just at the beach but at prom too. Veronica always wished and hoped that pack issues and drama wouldn’t effect him any way and he would make his decision not be made for him.
She wasn’t paying attention when tatted, giant man walked towards her, she was confused and thought it was figment of her imagination when he wrote his number on her palm and left just as he came. What the hell? Veronica convinced herself that she finally cracked and started seeing tatted giants walking towards her and called her ‘babe.’ ”Am I the only one who saw-“ She stopped herself when Tash said she better call him or she will. She was confused as to why a random man would do that or what attracted him to her when Tash was right there. Veronica was in no shape or form to be talking to strangers especially when he came towards her, dripping wet. She took the burger plate from Catch and nodded as a thank you. ”You can call him, Nat. I have other commitment. And no Catcher, I’m not chasing after any man ever again.” Veronica voice cracked at the end and tears filled her eyes. She blinked away those tears and told herself to stay strong. That’s all she has been doing, chasing one man that she thought was her life, her happiness, her better half but turns out it was not. She lost any hope she would be reunited with Axel again. A tear managed to roll down her face, she wiped it and looked at her friends.
This was a burden for her. Feeling like this, hurt filled with hollow while staying strong. Alcohol she drank did not catch up to her but made her some what sober. Reality set in her mind, one she was trying to run away from. She took a bite of burger, chewed it slowly while avoiding eyes with her friends. She ate her burger in silence, trying to get hold of herself. When she knew she was content, she looked up and smiled at her friend. ”Better take a picture of my palm before phone number disappears Nat.” She has never seen Natasha like this before and she is digging it. And suggestion to skinny dipping took her by surprise. She doesn’t know how she felt about that given the fact she and Catcher had something, Seth is like a brother and Natasha and Catcher.

Tash was practically dead and she got up acting completely different. Seth really didn't know how to take the whole situation so he tried to push it from his mind. He has to get her alone and talk to her. Over the past few years they had gotten pretty close. It started out by having Jake telling him to keep an eye out on her but when she was in a good mood she could light up the room. It was nice to see her looking happier than usual.
When the first burger was done Seth couldn’t shove it into his mouth fast enough and as he did a super muscular wet man came and walked up to Veronica writing a number down on her hand. His skin was covered in tattoos and was glistening from all the water drops that were slowly dropping off his body. He almost choked on his food watching the whole situation play out.Seth even found this guy very attractive, he was a very handsome man. Looking for a reaction out of Veronica he watched the tear well up in her eyes, he wanted to grab her, pull her close and take the sadness away. For so long he had seen Tash in such a state and now seemed to be in a similar Veronica. Did she imprint too? He didn't want to ask, it was too personal and she didn't even give him the opportunity to watch as she ate her food. He just shook his head and looked at the ground. All emotions bouncing around were jars to processes. He knew was he never wanted to imprint himself or not have a committed relationship till it possibly happened. For most of his friends, imprinting didn't ever turn out well.
He was barely paying attention when Tash mentioned skinny dipping. It would be a good way to reduce tension but he really wanted to see any of his friends naked for fun. If the others did it then he would too. "Tash, really you sure you want to do this, if so you gotta do it first." He watched her to see what her reaction would be and looked over at Catcher at shrugged "might be fun"
