Catcher did not know the internal struggle she was fighting. so having an outsider, a non pack member there allowed her to drop her shield and her defence she had to put up to get through everything that had been eating at her soul. Tash felt like she would be free from everything tonight if Seth just left it alone. It had been weeks maybe longer, since she had allowed herself to transform into her alternate self. She felt her sweet side leaving her more each time she changed, getting transfixed all of thoughts he could block out. Hearing Quil in her mind think about Ellie made her feel she was living in a psychosis she couldn't escape. The wolf whose fur was bright as snow on a mountain peak felt like it was a part of her she never wanted to be again. She wouldn't change again unless there was some serious trouble.Tonight she would be different she would allow herself to be free from everything.
Tash felt like a peacock, so many were staring at her. Was it the dress, her smile or how her hair looked ? she was always told she was beautiful, she usually just blew off the compliments with a thank you. Catcher's presence made her feel like people were talking about her even more. why she had brought this stranger to alomst eveyone to event,His I dont give a fuck presona he protraided help her loosen up that and the music gave her thet the freedom to just girl. Nothing else at night now was a freedom she longed for sometimes. His tuff guy look did add the ambience. The room needed someone like him to liven up the party. Seth has toddled towards the DJ. It gave Tash a moment to start up a conversation, she twirled a stand of hair betweenher finger land tuckendit behind her ear." So Catcher, what brings you.." She stopped mid sentence getting distracted by Seth moving around the room.
The lights bounced off every corner making it feel bigger than it ever had before. The worn wooden bleachers had been tucked aways accordingly. All the micro mirrors reflecting tinky little twinking flecks as if they were dancing under an open sky. ...looks like Seth is having a great time... she watched him dance with the tiny girl in the purple dress.Seth had a way of making everyone feel included. It was one of the traits she admired about him, everyone was his friend, he could even make friends with the vampires. It did not take him long to return to the group, It was such a short time Natasha did even get more than a minute to talk to Catcher.
..He'd be right back... Natasha's eyes traced Cather 's around the room. She was too focused on watching what he was up to she didn't hear Seth talking beside her.First Catcher grabbed a drink and headed up to the DJ....What is he planning... Music from the Armageddon soundtrack started to fill the room as eyes met hers " This is for you" ...Oh no...her cheeks flushed red, wanting to hide behind her hand but instead she stood her ground, watching Catcher as he sananade her, His confidence was attractive...what a guy..When Catcher changed his focus to Seth She felt relieved. She could help but to enjoy every second and every move that Catcher made as he strutted around Seth and pulled him close, they were so close she wondered if Catcher would kiss him just for a reaction to the onlookers. it would have been hilarious, he didnt though. Every move he made made the party goes react, they were enjoying the show just as much as she had been.
Tash saw his attention move from Seth returned his focus back to her. She didn't know what to expect but as he twirled and guided her around she laughed. It was genuine and she was very lucky to have Catcher there who knew exactly what she needed. It has always been said laugher is the best medicine. It was true was helping her feel better. She sang long softly, amost so quiet people wouldn’t her.
Feeling His hands on her, Tash could not take her eyes off the display he was putting on. She was no longer the blue bird, Catcher was he was the peacock, she'd let him fly.He pulled her in close, it was nice to be held even for a moment. The small intimate gesture made her heart feel a little lighter. Maybe she made it without Quil by her side. She allowed the thought to take her over for a second, she could find her own sort of happiness. She had imprinted, the blood curse that was the problem. Tash pushes the thoughts from her mind, She could feel Catcher's breath against her cheek. words be softly whispered in her ear. He really is doing a good job getting her mind off things. He was making her feel like she was important. Not just a whiney girl pining over a breakup.
It's a funny thing that someone who you haven't seen in such a long time could step back into your life and make you feel more valued than the closest of friends. She would have to let herself be vulnerable to him, let him know what had happened in his absence that had changed her. In the end they both deserved to get explanations.
Catcher pulled away, but it was as if he lingered a bit as he let go of her hand, she had felt the cool metal against her palm pulled her hand away and shood still for a second. He had said guys would be over to ask her to dance after is display she must have looked light on her feet. She felt it. She was once clumpsy tripping over ever her bare feet but her gracefulness had improved with her senses. She tired to shout over the clapping "Catch...thanks." she didn't think he heard. Soon after as previously predicted he was getting offered to dance. Why not it would hurt anything.
She kept looking around the room as she made her way to the dance floor with some boy who seemed to be glad she has said yes.she wasnt totally focused on Catcher would to slip out of the dance unnoticed. Then she remembered they had mention the bon fire at the beach. If they didn't get the chance tonight they will then.
Tash let her attention go back to the guy was dancing with. He was shorter then her, and lacking of any sort of time in the gym. He was smiling and could barely hold a conversation with her out of nervousness. She herself found the conversation required no more then yes and no responses or she was just unengaged with the topic. She finished a dance with him and headed toward the punch bowl. Her face was flushed, she needed a drink. She blew off some more dance offers. Tash needed a moment to process. Not even asking a someone passed her a glass. It was Seth she hadn't talk to him since Catcher’s big number. "So you and Catcher eh? I didn't take you for the bad boy type."

“Sure beach part next weekend, I’ll let everyone know. We’re more likely to get the guy to show up for that.” Seth didn’t know what happened next. Catcher had left and he was left standing with Tash.
“You good for next weekend ?” She didn’t answer, she looked s little spaces out. If she was going to ignore him why not go home. She had been distant with him lately not as much as she had been with the other but certainly still not herself. He understood but he was annoyed.
What happened next was totally unsuspected. His best friend was no on stage holding a microphone singing! He seemed to be forces of trying to make Tash smile, maybe talked while he was away. Seth watched Catcher display his sexy outsider rock star vibes in her direction before he then turned his attentions to him.
Seth just stood there awkwardly as second as Catcher sung to him,. I’ll get him back for this. He extended a hand so Seth grabbed it. At his point it couldn’t get more embarrassing. He was wrong, hand pressed to his chest, Catcher continues singing not breaking eye contact. Then he pulled him in ever closer foreheads touching, Seth was about to end this whole thing if he tried. “Don’t kiss me bro.” Catcher didn't, he was relieved Tash would never had let that go.She would have told the guys the it would be an endless amount of torture.
Relief came when Seth was no longer his focus, moving over to Tash. Seth just stood watching arms folded across his chest looking as he would shoot daggers from his eyes if anyone approached. Last thing he wanted tonight was to be the center of attention.
Tash looked radiant as Cather spun her around and pulled her in. If things weren’t so tangled with her emotionally and whatever happened to make him leave. They might have been a good couple. The song ended soon after. Seth was glad he was to pulled back into show. Soon his best friend was back at his side and he question made Seth laugh. “Catch you do you should have gave me a heads up, we could have made it next level.” Seth couldn’t help how more hilarious have been if he all in. “I'll talk to her if you want. I already know what happened.” Seth tapped his a finger to his forehead and to indicate he had learned it all. Sometimes thoughts were hard to hide, when you cant always block things out.
He waited for Tash to he done dancing fore heading in her direction. Pushing his way into the crowd It looked like she was heading towards the punch table. Seth had made it there first getting patted on the back all the way over being told what Catch did was gold. He handed the drink over to Tash. “Bro-mace only here. Sorry to disappoint.” Seth took a sip. It seemed his punch was spiked without even being asked. It tasted like gasoline smelt. “Are you going to let him know what going on with you? He’s been asking.” Seth didn’t feel like talking behind her back. No need to pass her off. At this point Seth was worried she was going to leave LA Push herself. He knew deep down she couldn’t escape the pull determined little string that tied her a Quil together. She would never completely break that connection. Only if she died or Quil it could never be broken. Imprinting was a sick little joke that comes out of nowhere.
Seth was glad it did happen to him. It probably never would. It only happened to a select few of the pack so far it was a rare occurrence. “Fuck, at least maybe try to be happy. Catcher used to have a crush on you, a lot of the guys did…” Seth put her arm on her shoulder. “Come one look around the room, you’re the prettiest one here. Stop being so in your head.”

Catcher glanced at the clock in the hall and reckoned they had a few slow songs left before the Prom finalist announcement and tiaras were crowned. The night would end after that with a few more voluntary dances and then it would be two or three weeks before school officially ended for everyone. All he had to do was be patient for the summer holidays so Seth and Tash would have too much time on their hands to lose him. With that, he realized how precious the next hour would be because without flux capacitor, they would never have the moment exactly as it was, ever again. He had seen himself wanting something just like this… He was more exhilarated by the events of tonight than he ever was in years and this time, he inhaled keenly binding all the sights, sounds and smells to his spirit. Can we still be friends? Does it have to end? If it ends, can we be friends? The answer was yes. If he died young, this was the metaphorical bed of roses he wanted to be laid down in.
After saying everything rhetorically to Seth, he had walked directly back to the kid at the punch bowl for a second drink only to find that this time the illegal concoction was free and it was spiked to death. And I thought the first one was strong…It seemed he had given the impression he was crazy when he had a drink and the singing was a package deal. He smirked and held out the cup in a short salute to the kid as he walked away, sipping on it instead. His head had been turned to Seth as the son of a gun tapped his own head, emphasizing his secret knowledge about Natasha’s situation and Catcher shook his slowly in response deviously, traveling to and from the stand before Seth went to get drink for himself. ”Next level is if you led me in a slow waltz.” Eyes narrowing into feline assets, he bit his lip while smirking suggestively, confident Seth was still a slapstick prude. The man had been standing frigid with his arms crossed, radiating a hellfire aura the entire time he sashayed around him during the song; it was one of those burlesque crossover pantomime visuals money couldn’t buy. Taunting, he pointed out Seth's fears."You didn't even want a kiss."
His trace of sight remained as Seth walked through the sea of vibrant fabric and shiny shoes distancing them; he watched Natasha engage in dialogue, their body language revealing a variety of sentiments. He could listen in but he subdued what vocals he could to cherish this eventide. He had done nothing as Seth got a ghetto cocktail with surprise and handed a drink to Natasha. The music and loud vibrations pulsated through his physique as he kept glancing at them periodically in the middle of his reverie, he wondered how on earth wolves didn't go deaf... how on earth they kept a suit on while dancing... quietly rethinking his personal wardrobe choices; attention deficit to a singular topic. Having refused to look back at Natasha when he came off the dance floor to talk to Seth, he hadn’t seen her attempt to shout a thanks and the way she searched for him as she danced with an overjoyed boy. Catcher should’ve kissed Seth but opted to sustain the imaginary world of all Seth admirers and truly almost kissed Natasha instead; one was calculated and the other not. He was absolutely dreadful at reining it in but tonight, he patted himself on the back for surviving that test no matter how strange he had stomped away from her afterwards.
Sighing, he took a gulp of his drink and reacted with a queasiness that reminded him not to do it again; he also needed to stop overshooting the possibilities and just behave ordinarily. At least now it was basically just whiskey and coke not a terrible mix… it was something that easily made him drunk though… almost a hundred percent budget nastiness with barely any coke. He could drink vodka like a whale, still winning money at pool but this was a different vice and he had to be careful. The cola eased it and the sugar boost tasted delicious. Starting to feel like an underaged alcoholic, he shuddered to literally shake off the thought because he most definitely wasn’t one. He just really wanted to be foil whatever part of him that always catches feelings even though he couldn’t deny they had always existed and been dormant; it was wearing him out how dangerous it can be to not check himself. Difficult enough was not looking for signs from her about how she felt about him and Seth… it was just like when they were younger but more tempting.
He tossed his jacket onto an empty foldout chair and left it to hang there when he noticed Natasha had gone over to the counter and gotten a cup of punch. Seth’s words had suddenly grown louder and they were within vicinity he couldn’t turn down the volume again. Groaning, he lamented and pinched between his eyes, mentally slapping himself as hard as an ice bucket challenge. He felt the colour drain from his face, refusing to trust that he heard Seth tell Natasha he had a crush on her. Albeit it was the mildest, chillest way possible, it was still as much a horror as it would’ve been if Quil was here to beat their faces in. Beat his face in because Seth had not mentioned his own crush for Tash; the sly fox made him set foot back in time... Good thing it was past tense, he could work with that. He held his breath stumped while he reconciled with the honesty of what his friend told her, tranquilising his inner disquiet. The cat was out of the bag.
Tugging loosely at the collar of his shirt, he came out of hiding and chirped in, smiling as virtuously as capable to appear impeccably fine in more ways than one. Why was it that two of the most admired and in demand people stopped mingling with anyone even when he was away from them…? Perhaps with time he had overlooked that Veronica was the only one who owned all the attention she was handed and nobody else was that secure.”You know if you want me to hog you two all night, just ask.” He took a sip of the camouflaged juice, somewhat shivering from the actual taste because it was warming up too fast from his wolf temperature. A few more swigs and I am just going to have to down this. Are we all getting drunk tonight? Wouldn't that be a sight.
”That’s cause I’m not really the bad boy.” He injected himself before Seth could say more then listened for a nonexistent objection after stating his piece to tease him. Now he let them know he caught the last bit of their conversation but steered it out of hostile territory. Seth had been a bad boy, he told on him and it made him want to laugh out loud at what landed on his plate. There was truth in his comment if she knew the side of him he hid from her but he often gloated having the rogue label and this time he rolled with it.”It’s just that I like a good drink, fine clothes, fast cars and you.”He was as serious as death at a funeral then broke into a princely smile at her, a dreamy look on his face, past the point of hinting, as he delivered his gospel before turning to Seth whose arm was already around her. He skated behind them, embracing both so they leaned in to include him as he proclaimed. Implying the answer was about Seth given the context of Natasha's original question, he added the last three words in two to Seth's ear. “Don’t I?” Sounding like he admitted he liked Seth rather than demonstrating why Seth liked him, he prayed everyone around them heard it and blinked steadily to flutter his dark eyelashes handsomely at his buddy. His friends still had to go back to classes for a little bit and he expected gossip to spread like wildfire even then; it was like an enduring prank he laid on thick.
He was reddening but it wasn’t too noticeable in the dim lighting and all he felt were his ears on fire; Catcher was clued in that Seth never really ever answered his short pre-empted questions, knowing him too well despite the years passed. Quil however… always had an answer that was sarcastic and it was hysterical; it only served to cause him to want to get a rise out of Quil more. With Seth, his mission was always to make him jovial when they were together. The icing on the cake was that their bromance seemed to turn Natasha a deep shade of crimson with both embarassment and awe; he had a feeling she enjoyed when he was all over Seth. He was such a vandal to Seth's chaste priesthood; such a shame it wasn't Valentine's day too. Now Hallow's eve on the other hand... Blessed would he be to have more to look forward to then. This all unleashed when he discovered he could pull off Donna's sweater dress. Pressing his cheek on Seth's, he snuggled briskly like a cat purring and chuckled, touching heads with Natasha briefly like they were both in on tormenting Seth.
Swilling the whisky around in his cup, he eyed the fluid then swallowed some more of it, stepping away to end the scrappy hug he couldn’t properly complete with his drink in hand. He then lightly smacked Seth on the back of his head and rounded back to face them with a shooting look of betrayal and delight at Seth for spilling the beans and not including himself. The day he returned to La Push his crush finds out his old crush from his best friend who also has a crush. What was that? A cliffhanger from a Telenovela...”He’s right Tash, nothing bad is going to happen. Nothing is happening. It’s just us… and you can count on us. Just so you know, we're here for you.” There was futile stress in him about the inevitable idiotic student body vote results that he concealed. All his efforts would be easily wasted if it happened to bring Natasha down into a foul, insecure and emo mood again. He was one to talk, he was the worst overthinker in the history of this school and she didn't even need to get tipsy. If he could scry into the dark future, he would see that Quil was not coming tonight so they had nothing to be nuts about. His eyes scanned the room for where the ballot box was and it took a while before he found it at a table with three girls, making him space out in fascination. Shy and docile; a shrinking violet was not the Natasha he knew. For the record, he was just inquisitive not plotting per se. She was definitely getting crowned and he pleaded with the saints his bubble of joy wouldn’t burst… that Seth would be too so it would all be ok… all a superb finale.
”Come on, request your favourite song and we’ll take it from there.”Get her wheels and cogs turning again… loving is hard, you just try your best not to get hurt. Sometimes it's better to let someone go... like he did... unless... his reflections trailed off as it all struck him. Did somebody imprint? No sooner had he uttered this suggestion, he regretted that the song may be one she intimately shared with her Quil. There was light at the end of the tunnel, she just had to replace that intimate association with anything and anyone... Cringing, he ruffled his hair and averted his gaze to a random person dancing trying to salvage it by adding”I just meant, we’re at your disposal... Whatever you want us to do."The older he got, the more that he saw... they could dance in desire or burn in love."Let's go somewhere after this... Don't turn down midnight french fries.” Tipping the cup upside down, he chugged the last mouthful of liquor and flicked his wrist to hook shot the empty container in the bin half expecting it wouldn't go in. Putting a hand on each of their shoulders, they stood in a triangle as he stared at them with pleasure; they were all for one and one for all. "You'll be free as soon as I get some pictures of the prom queen with her tiara. And, don't forget the polaroid booth my friends."He was being uncharitable to her disinterest in commemorating her story, demanding as though he knew better and mostly it was a hypnotising quality because, he knew it would be worth it. Meanwhile, the prettiest girl in the room had charge now to dazzle them.

The night would soon be coming to and end. It was not the night she dreamt of but I so far had been a night she needed. I night to forget the sadness, and then to remember what it was like to genuinely laugh and enjoy company.
Tash looked a the cup in her had and smelt it before she took a drink. She almost spit it out .It tasted like some made it in a toilet but it would take the edge of then night so she kept siping. She could feel both Seth and Catcher's and arms around her like they were all in a huddle trying to think of the next play.
“Sorry Catch, not bad boy your just.. different then most around here.” He was he could come and leave as he pleased. Also he’s look did help it the looked reminded her of those old 80’s movies in which the boys who rode motorcycles and wore leather jacket were the outsider that in the end would win the girl.
She raised the cup to meet he lips again. Trying to force herself to swallow. Out of the blue Seth had mentioned Catcher has a crush on her. She almost lost her drink this time for real making an audible going sound and coughing a bit. She was oblivious to most things. It didn’t help she had be very narrow mined when I came to relationships. She being young when her mother died, her dad was alone of her life it wasn’t till she was fourteen did he even get a girl friend. It was no of the reasons Natasha moved back to leave with family in the reservation.
“Well if you did have a crush then you hid it well.” Her face felt warm form the alcohol in which she wondered how any of the other party goers could stomach it. It felt like it could rot a hole in her belly as it sat there. She knew it would taken long for it to burn off. One benefit of being a Shapeshifter a high metabolism. “I'm not worried about anything bad happening, I’m just scared about what I might do.” It was a internal struggle for her. What she hadn’t mentioned she felt as though if she felt better it would be wrong, emotion came hard to control. She rather stay sad, numb even. She had pushed most of the friends away that why none of then came. She didn't want to get angry, she didn't want to end up exploding.Seth showing up was a surprise. She felt it was her fault none came. She thought maybe someone would show and she have to apologize for her erratic behavior. “Catcher we all know Seth is winning that title tonight.” She laughed being prom queen was just a dumb crowing event in which if she was chosen would play along but rather just blow of the ceremony all together. He could take all the pictures he wanted, the more pictures the more mementos so this night they could share later life. Taking Cather’s advice she walked over to the DJ booth not sure of what song to ask for, her song choices of late were emotional in nature. She finally picked a song one in which she hope was true.
She let the song start play and glided across the floor to Seth and Catcher. She twirled and waves her arms before pulling Catcher and Seth close singing to them softly. Right at this moment they were everything she need. She didn’t need the ones who decided no to show… well not everyone ..he would always truly belong to one. It was not about him tonight these three had made memories that the others would never get to experience
“ you two are gems you know that right?” They were the best people, though they all came alone they all made tonight better for her. Wherever she did in the future she hope Catcher and Seth would always stay close from here on out. They were a true classic trio.
Occ if foget how to link music as words 😄

He laughed along with her when she said Seth won the title of Prom queen. Why hadn’t it crossed his mind that that could be arranged? He sincerely hoped some of the other boys had actually pranked Seth so it would be officially announced. Thoroughly amused, he pulled out his phone from his pocket and snapped a shot of Seth’s grievous expression. The burst shots also captured Natasha’s cheeky joking and he quickly shoved the phone back so neither of them could see what they looked like or delete them. They were immortalized in more than memories; he would never lose them now. He was the obscure third man who never appeared in photographs the same way he always tried to celebrate them from the sidelines.
It was then she left them, staggeringly taking his advice. Catcher watched her go and peered at Seth in a sideways look of amazement, a hand still on his shoulder. His eyes enlarged as she started dancing back to them and pulled both towards her; this was the first time he ever heard her sing and it was a wispy, serene melody befitting an enchanting mythical creature. Never before had he been dragged to dance and he let her steer him back to the middle of the room with Seth, almost too modest to do more. The lights drifted across their skin in small patches, so fast they were comets in an ocean, illuminating his pink blush. They were the stars of the night; they should be this way every night, eternally young. As the lyrics washed across the dance hall, everyone else turned to the DJ who waved his arms above and gave them a thumbs-up like; this was their anthem. The sounds of a concert poured through the speakers and a guitar began, stirring him into the tune. He stood frozen, feeling the atmosphere light him up; a candle of his former self, forsaken snuffed out and he was renewed as the chords transported him. I’m doing buck twenty on I-75… just to see if I’m dead or alive… He finally saw himself the way he never knew they saw him. Solitude was dispelled… it was as if she was there with him through the years without being there. They were the same now, he realised for the first time... and his heart throbbed.
The words became meaning as he listened and looked around him, up at the disco ball, at the walls, at everything he needed. His truths… lord knows he’d been looking for the skylight. It panned around so slowly, he was in a haze, realizing he had the exact sentiments. It penetrated his soul, and created a bursting glow that was becoming supernova. The world wasn’t bleak, hopeless… it was whatever they made of it; their oyster. Together they were strong, they could overcome anything. He would tell them everything, all would be right with his world again. He turned back to his friends and understood more than philosophical ideals of what he was missing. He had known all along he was missing them, this place, everything they could do and now he saw they had too. Catcher looked down as the bass dropped, a peaceful smile spreading slowly on his face. The nostalgia he felt in the hallway when he saw Seth, rippled once more but he kept smiling, letting it stick.
Tapping his foot, he started to replicate what Natasha was doing, mouthing the words then actually singing them aloud with her. Jiving with the chords, his restraint disintegrated as he began moving naturally again. He slowly clapped then skipped around them, influencing others to do same so it aligned with the song; it was infectious. “…You always remind me.”Murmuring to himself about his childhood and juvenile shenanigans, he grabbed Natasha’s hands tightly and started spinning them around, gently grinning at her. They were children in a playground; ringing around a rosey like speed demons… Andrenaline dashed from him to her, and he could see no one else, laughing as their vortex blew his hair into his face and hers away from her. In a clean sweep, he spun her away to Seth, hopping a few times from the momentum. She picked a song that rocked a youth nation, nothing could be more appropriate.
The chorus matched up and he bounced over to Seth, jumping around him as the song picked up pace; it was like he couldn’t help but bring unwanted attention to the dude. It was building up fanfare towards Seth and he nudged him with his elbow, looking at him like he knew Seth could bust some fancy break dancing moves. You know you’ve got me…He put both hands on his own chest in a gesture of adoration and gratitude to them; pausing before circling around a girl and boy who were watching them, he stopped and picked up the girl’s hand. For a second, she gasped and he put her hand lightly in the boy’s grasp, lip syncing “I know, I got you” to the boy so the pair laughed shamelessly as Catcher strut back to Natasha.
When he had what he had now, there was no counter maybe, no more missing what he had. The old him belonged to the past. The music dropped to an acoustic strum and he sang once more staring at Natasha playing an air guitar to fit, slowing then pointing at Seth and nodding with the tempo, as if Seth should join in. His friends were irreplaceable. If they were gems, Seth was a Lapis stone, the lazuli that revered ancient civilisations to be the most famous friendship stone… Even vampires liked him. The sky was the limit; he was lucky to Seth no matter where they were in life. As for himself, he was a diamond trying hard to be shrouded in a rough exterior. Gazing at Natasha, he continued singing, poignantly concluding that she was that polished Ruby, crystalline, passionate and pure but unattainable...
Stealing Natasha for a line dance, he copied her footing before lifting her up lightly and letting her down, the tail of her dress swished like the train on a bridal gown. His arm curled around her waist and they swayed closely in unison, timed to the subsiding volume. Maybe he was playing mind tricks on her, maybe he just wanted her to know... even if it meant nothing to her.”I never hid it you know, you just weren’t paying attention.” He let her go and spun in front of her, bowing slightly, arms out, getting the last word; peacocking was so becoming… about time she was informed, about time he faced her head on. Catcher gave her a lasting look in her eyes, long enough he could see the gleaming depths but didn’t hesitate to leave her hanging. Bodies piled into Natasha’s view as he turned to jog to the ballot table; he would be gone before she could come up with an argument and neither her nor Seth could stop what he was up to as usual.
There was a bag behind the desk by the wall and it contained the crowns, the girls were chatting and sitting together, fuddled from the spiked drinks. Acting by instinct, he jumped, skidding across the table and past the sitting girls as they opened their mouths in protest and terror that turned into disgust and irritation. It took a few seconds of him laughing at them as they surrounded him trying to snatch what he had taken; the shiny diadem they all wanted to wear. He put it behind him then held it high so they couldn’t reach while clawing at him and put a finger on his lips to hush them; in their shock, he shoved one of the coronets to a girl and ran away with the other before they could react. It wasn’t like he could get in trouble; he was giving it to the correct recipient after all. They would love to hate him.
Reemerging from between the huddled people holding each other and billowing like reeds in the breeze to the chorale of song, he squeezed through to Seth, latching onto his wrist to bring him to Natasha. The music dropped to an acoustic strum and he held out the little tiara to her with two hands, adjusting it with a spin then smiling awkwardly. Brazen, his offering was open ended, enticing her fun-loving streak to rise from the ashes. Beaming, he very nearly put it on her head but decided at the last minute she could do what she wanted with it, wear it, break it, throw it, or put it on Seth, resounding the song. ”Now, we’ve got everything we need.”

The evening to far had been epic, not only did his befriend returned, that best found a way to make the event what would be the talk of the school possibly the talk of the summer . Those people would probably never let Seth ever forget the night either. He bet is was the sexy thing some of the students had ever seen. He didn’t know if Catcher would do anything else that could top the night.
His friend had seemed to grow little more adventurous over his absences. Seth had thought for sure would get themselves into some sort of trouble this summer “Your right not a bad boy. Good drinks, fine clothes?..pffft..under all that.." Seth flick his finger up and down pointing at Cather's outfit. The spoke in a baby voice “he’s the sweetest little puppy I know.”. Making a kiss face in his direction. “Hey if I make prom queen, I’ll give you the flowers. Seth pulled his hair tie out letting his hair fall down around his face sweeping his chin. It felt better then being in the tight man bun."We all know I'm beautiful." He places his hand on his hips as stuck hes butt out on an odd angle. "Do you think this will help." He busted out cackling like a coyote, before spanking his ass.
Tash has walked away taking Catcher’s advice to pick a song. When she turned and walked across the dance floor dress flowing around her like she was parting the waves and slowly stepping out of the water. It was as she pushed away some of her unhappiness to enjoy some of the night. Her song choices was on point. Tonight they were all the need, watching his friends let loose at that moment they had all they need. Good music, friendship and memories to last their lifetime. He joined his friends jumping in and dancing to the music.
Really thrilled the only thing they were missing was something to eat. Catcher mentioned French fries before they started to dancing how Seth was hungry., they were thinking on the same wavelength. True best friends can read each other’s minds without having to even try. At least he thought he could read his friend well but what he did next wasn’t even on Seth radar.
Catcher has taken the tiara meant for the prom queen right from underneath the committee noses. He laughed as he saw the girls trying to jump a take it from his grasp. They couldn’t of course and he made his way back to Seth and Tash. The crown was held out in her direction and Tash took it for a moment before placing it on Seth. He laughed grabbed her by the wrist and started pull her towards the door. “Come on you two I'm starving let’s go get those fries.”
Seth let go of Tash place the crowd on her head. “I’ll want that back" he said laugh harder then he had in a while . He ran over and grabbed Catcher jacket of the nearby folding chair grabbed the crown back off Tash's head and placing on himself. Seth ran right out the gym door yelling “ long live the queen.” waving at the crowd as he ran by.

"What the hell am I wearing to this thing?" Donna asked herself as she shuffled through her closet. Prom wasn't exactly her bag, but when her friend Xion asked her to prom in such a garishly stupid way, she couldn't help but roll her eyes and say yes. It had been a minute since anything...exciting happened at La Push, not that Donna was interested in anything going on at a high school, but she tried to keep herself as "in the know" as possible. She took a deep breath and yanked out a slinky black cocktail dress, "Haven't worn this one in a while...when did I wear it last?" Donna said searching the confines of her mind. It also didn't help that while she was pulling out her dress her blue contact shifted revealing her crimson iris. A quick fix and her eyes were back to being a deep shade of purple.
She slipped into the black dress as her phone rang. It was Xion, "Hello, Wolfie." She said as she zipped herself into the dress, "Yes I know what time it is." Donna sauntered into her bathroom to put her face on, "Yes, I know where I'm supposed to be. Since when are you so prompt? Wait, don't tell me...you want to make someone jealous at the prom?" She rolled her eyes and scoffed before she put on her red lipstick, "You are so predictable. What's his name?" Donna continued to listen to Xion prattle on about his latest infatuation. All the while getting herself prepared for the nights festivities. She darkened her liner, brushed on some mascara, and bit on a tissue to remove some of the excess lipstick before putting on her pumps, "I can't believe I stayed in Washington just to play wingman to a nearly 7 foot tall Adonis who would have NO problem getting with anyone if he'd only half the confidence his body should allow him to have...I know, Xi, I know. You have garbage confidence because you were picked on as a kid for being gay...I...I get it and I'm sorry for being..." Xion cut her off with a few insults of his own, "You got brass, Wolfie." Donna said through a wry smirk.
She sighed and then checked the clock, "Xion...I gotta go. We agreed separate cars to avoid making the other heave. I'm getting into my car now. Yes, I will see you soon." She hung up the phone and got off her bed. Her room was tastefully decorated if a little over the top. Cream walls, matching molding, white canopy over her king sized bed. Shoes and dresses neatly put away in her walk in closet. A white fridge to keep her..."food" cold. Donna always appreciated her marvelous power of persuasion, which gave her access to the hospitals blood supply. She was, at he very least, able to control her cravings. She made sure to fill up before the prom so she wouldn't be so...famished and liable to do something disastrous at the event.
Donna threw on her long black overcoat, slipped on her leather gloves, grabbed her keys, and sunglasses and headed out to her car. She brushed her long black hair back and checked her face once more before pulling out of her driveway and heading to La Push High.
~*~*
Donna parked her car far enough away from the school to seem inconspicuous, Xion hadn't arrived yet, "Tch, typical..." Donna mumbled under her breath. She walked casually to the entrance when she saw what looked like Seth Clearwater running out of the gymnasium crying 'Long live the queen.' Donna chuckled with bemusement, "Some things just never change." She didn't want to bother with the other wolves, least not until, Xion showed up. Least with him around I stand a chance of surviving should the wolves get...hostile. She thought to herself. Nevertheless, she strode passed Seth and walked right into the gymnasium which smelt...like a gymnasium. It was garishly ornamented and typical of what you'd expect from a high school, "This better be worth it Xi...This ain't my bag of cats." Donna said softly to herself. She quickly took her phone out and text Xion, "I am here and you're not, why?" With that she marched to the punch bowl and filled a glass to look...Normal.
She enjoyed watching the teens act up and be foolish and dance around, but she also wanted to be on the sidelines, not to attract too much attention, "This. Is. Embarrassing..." She crossed her arms, she crossed her legs, she leaned her head back against the wall, and sighed heavily.

The day started like any other. Shifting around the woods scratching itches only mother nature could scratch, and eating. Really what else is there for life to offer? Xion made it out of a rough coma with the help of his friend Donna. Xion, many weeks?, months?, years? ago took a nasty fall off a cliff that gave way. Xion had just finished getting chewed out by Quil, someone whom Xion thought felt a certain way about him. Those thoughts, feelings, and fantasies were gone in the blink of an eye. Quil dashed off to check the lands and Xion was left with out land to stand on. The cliff he and Quil were arguing on disintegrated and had Donna not helped Xion out it might've been curtains for the gentle beast. To think the only reason she helped me was because she thought I was hot. Xion thought to himself as he recalled his friendship with the blood sucker.
Truly a friendship like this doesn't happen at all, but Xion being a gay outcast from his family and Donna being an outcast from her family the two formed a very interesting, if odd, friendship. Xion made it home before it got to be too dark as tonight was a special night. Tonight, Xion was going to ask his newest crush out on a date. Xion, as far as he could recall, never imprinted on anyone, but he always had lust and love constantly confused. Xion was always a very emotionally driven person which didn't help when it came to his responsibilities as an Ateara. He would rather use peace and non violence instead of brute force, but given his physical stature you'd never believe that. All of these things to say, Xion was ready to make moves tonight.
He took off his shirt and shorts and made his way to the bathroom. He checked himself out in the mirror and noticed a bit of tummy bulge, "Guess they call this the "dad bod"?" He said with a smirk. It had been a minute since Xion stepped foot into a gym as he usually uses running through the woods as his exercise. He turned the shower on, leapt in, and began lathering himself up. Hedonism and vanity never played too much of a role in Xions life, but as he's gotten older and he notices how people have looked at him it's changed the way he's perceived himself. He's still humble, but he definitely gets excited when people let him know just how good looking he is. His sexuality is still very much a sore subject amongst his peers...those that know keep it tightly under wraps, those that don't just tell him that he's a handsome bachelor who will find his way in time. Xion ran his hands over his sopping wet hair as the water continued to drizzle over his physique. He turned the water off and air dried in his bathroom. It was his home and he didn't believe in towels, even if company was over.
He strode over to his bed, messily made, put on spotify and began preparing himself for the prom. Xion let out a chuckle as he recalled how he asked Donna to prom. With a fake corsage and a hallmark card Xion mailed the parcel to Donna's home. She text him, "You're an idiot...and yes I'll go with you." He picked out his favorite blue suit and matching shoes and laid them on his bed. He fastidiously got into a pair of tight blue briefs, a black shirt which he clasped into a shirt garter. He adjusted himself and looked in the full length mirror that wasn't even hung up just leaning against the wall farthest from the bathroom, "Not bad...I should go just like this." He laughed. He saw the time and figured he'd call Donna just to be safe. He's known Donna long enough to know that when she arrives fashionably late the party is just about over, "Know what time it is, Vamp?...and You do know where you're supposed to be right?" He said smiling coyly, but in true to form fashion, Donna could read Xion like a book.
He blushed without her knowing, even though she probably did, "Yes..." He said knowing he had no chance of lying to the centuries old vampire, "This one's name is...Not important right now, but he's very funny, and very cute, and very handsome, and he's smart, Donna, he's so smart. I'm just really ready this time, ya know? Like I want to be happy and I want to finally get something out of coming back here." He said not wanting to reveal too much too soon. He also didn't want to jinx himself by saying that Seth was his latest crush. As he was going on he couldn't help but hear that Donna was moving around a bit, probably getting herself ready when she finally snipped at him a little. Her words were icy and stung a little bit causing Xion to frown. He guessed she understood that she hurt his feelings because she immediately apologized. It was Xion's turn to hit back with his own brand of sass, "A Cold-hearted, blood-sucking, bitch?" He said with a self assured smile as he put his pants on, "Gotta give as good ya get, Vamp." He said smilingly.
Donna then made a good point. It was getting late and he needed to head out. They did agree to separate cars and it sounded like Donna was already on her way. Xion had to get a move on so as not be beaten to La Push by the infamously late vampire. He tossed his jacket over his shoulder, put his shoes on, grabbed his keys, and walked out to his car locking his house door behind him. He got into his car and sped off.
^*^*^*
Xion made it to the High School a little later than he anticipated there was traffic, as well as him wanting to take a more scenic route. He was always in love with nature and wanted to admire it's beauty for all it was worth. He also noticed that Donna's sleek black sports car was parked a ways away from the high school, "Always wanting to remain inconspicuous...That's my Vamp." He got out of the car and checked his phone to see a missed call and a text message from Donna. I'm here and you're not, why? The timestamp made it appear that Donna sent it only 5 minutes ago, "Huh...she just got here too." Xion said to himself, impressed that he could've driven a little faster to beat her to the high school. It looked like Seth was horsing around outside and Xion swallowed hard. He wanted to see what all the clownery was about, but he also wanted to be a proper date to Donna. So he quickly, and clumsily, made his way into the gymnasium. It was pretty and while typical of a high school prom Xion was taken by it's over the top charm.
At first Xion saw Natasha and Catcher continuing to dance and horse around. It looked like the two of them and Seth were in on the same game. He didn't want to disturb them but he did acknowledge them. Xion then noticed Donna, being her typical shadowy self against the wall and walked up to her, "Come here often?" He said snickering, "It's good to see you...where's your corsage?" He asked slyly...knowing full well Donna wouldn't wear such a thing.

Catcher had his hands on his knees dying of laughter when Seth streamed out of the hall wearing the crown and screaming. There were no regrets to everything he had done to get to see that and he was hardly able to breathe. Choking when his friend had stuck his butt out and spanked himself looking like that’s what he did any day of the week, he was already suffocating and now it was like his abs couldn’t take a workout. Coughing a few times, he put his hands on his forehead, straightening while huffing to try and stop wheezing when a particular scent blew him away. He recognized it because of how rare it had been to ever come across the notes of both fragrance and miasma of Vampire blood and each time he chanced upon a female Vampire, it was unique to his nose; the combination and his entrancement of the nights events so far made him feel like he was smelling colour as he saw the rare beauty with lilac eyes enter quietly. She was the closest thing to perfection he had ever seen in person but he was still always intimidated, just like a typical human would be. Perhaps if he were a vampire it would be easier, he’d be dead. It was never going to improve, and he praised Satan that he hadn’t out run after Seth yet. He would probably have seen her while running and crashed into Seth. It would take several minutes before it stopped being so surreal and hit him that someone else he desired so much to see would show up now due to her arrival.
”It’s Donna…” Half exclaiming, half timid, he spoke to everyone and no one at the same time. The timeless, glamourous black dress had waded into the hall revealing how shabby the location actually was; the destination should have been a Baz Luhrmann film. A Gatsby extravaganza.. She seemed demure against the floral, bright colours but it made her stand out more and she never looked better in his opinion. He finally realized Natasha probably did not understand who he babbled about and he turned to look for her reaction, flailing with some suppressed excitement, his eyes darted around upward, pensive. ”She must be here for Xion…” In a rather goofy memory, he could almost hear her chastise Quil over his relentless machismo and he chuckled airily, stating the obvious. This time when he saw her she was a silver screen siren with the poise of a marble greek statue and he wrestled with his imagination of what Xion would possibly wear to couple. Last time he met her he was trying to pull off a sweater dress with nothing underneath and could barely multitask. Everyone was around La Push with a chance of being ninety-nine percent nude or in the presence of a nudist… Catcher was always a bit upset about his clothes being ruined and then having to be naked so frequently in front of people, trying to act like he was totally aloof about it when he would rather be fully clad in something nice. He pressed his lips together to one side in doubtful contemplation. If being a wolf could provide super power confidence that would have been great… He should’ve been well adjusted by now, having done so many emboldening things tonight but he found himself disturbed and buckling over Donna’s presence and the draining inebriation.
Neurotic, he linked his fingers with Natasha’s and held her hand as if strength would transfer to him; on the outside it just looked like he intimately picked up her hand. Thinking of ways to make Natasha understand who they were seeing was the only woman to ever put Quil in his place, he whispered to her. ”You’ll be happy to know, Quil had to wear her clothes once and she scares him…” Omitting his own part in that scenario, he smiled at Natasha as if he was on her side of the relationship quarrel. True to himself, he would never have walked up to Donna because she would look at him like he was a lost child. In a twist of fate, Xion entered the room and he felt strangely skittish like he was brittle and as tragic as he was when he miraculously re-appeared here a couple of hours ago. But, he had Natasha who always mediated everyone’s tensions as the most beloved, darling one and he was guilty she was going to be some sort of human shield for him. Catcher stole a cup of murky gasoline from a boy beside them and drank it in a daring guzzle, deeply inhaling and exhaling before leading Natasha to the ridiculously good looking pair.
The next few seconds to minutes were not discernable. He was full circle of happiness, excitement, apprehension and childish naivety unable to say a single word; Natasha and Donna probably thought he was handicapped and looked like he’d witnessed a murder but they were older, and knew him to be whatever way he was. Xion would obviously be able to smell that he was temporarily over the drinking limit, that he was also all scents of the gymnasium; made up with sweat, glitter, hair clay and exploded streamers. It probably looked like he was about to sob because he had stared then looked at his feet, more pallid than just from being paler; he was never good at these things but the whole time he had been singing, dancing and doing crazy shit, he’d thought Xion would completely get it. Now here he was… different though still immense and still a brotherly sport for even coming, not to mention inviting Donna. Catcher grinned brightly, polarized and suddenly threw his arms around Xion in a hug that was like a toddler flopping into their mother, blood rushing back to his face. Nobody had ever seen this before… but what was it Seth said he was actually… ‘a little puppy’?

Donna was never one to stand on ceremony and she wasn't the type to be stood up, but she wasn't about to leave her friend high and dry. Especially when tonight meant so much to him. She recalled the first time she met Xion. It was actually at the La Push reservation where she practically met the entire brood of wolves. She met Seth, Catcher, Sam, Quil, Embry, Jacob, and Xion. Unfortunately Sam ruined the entire get together with his I'm better than you because I'm a werewolf and you're a vampire. attitude. Donna, of course, maintained her dignity and composure, even when Sam phased. She was always the type to use her physical strength and prowess rather than her vampiric fangs to intimidate her predators. Donna liked being in La Push rather than Forks as she felt the vampires didn't like her rule breaking, while the wolves in La Push couldn't help but be enchanted by her ability to not only withstand the overpowering musk of a dog, but also hold her own in a fight against some pretty aggressive canines. Donna was always one who never truly fit in anywhere, but when she was around certain wolves they just always seemed to appreciate her for who she was underneath the layer of "undead" pheromones.
She checked her phone and it looked like Xion read her message but never responded, "Great...I love when he pulls stunts like this, but just as she was about to leave Xion walked in, in his blue suit. Donna couldn't help but smirk and let out a small chuckle. He's pulling out all the stops, it seems. Good for him. She thought to herself. Donna was always attracted to Xion, but knew that they were much better as friends than as anything more, plus, Xion was gay as the day is long and Donna liked the dynamic between the two of them. She never had many queer friends despite being a Volturi in Italy. If you were gay you just acted aloof and "European" and no one asked questions. Donna didn't know how queer individuals were treated in the wolf packs, but she imagined they were a little more accepting seeing as though Xion was very out and very proud. Obviously being at events like these in La Push gave people an opportunity to socialize and be butterflies, while Donna is certainly a social butterfly, at gatherings where wolves congregate might not be the best to stand out. However against the various colors in the gymnasium, dressing in black certainly makes one stick out like a sore thumb.
Donna watched as Xion clumsily entered, waving at Catcher and Catcher's girlfriend that Donna had yet to be formally introduced to, but she knows her unmistakable scent makes a statement all it's own. She lowered her glasses as Xion neared her. He was being all husky and mellow and charming. She watched as he leaned against the same wall Donna was leaned up against. She also noticed that Catcher and his girlfriend were in toe, "You're late...there's a whole cosmic shift happening because I'm the one who's on time." She said sarcastically.
She loved teasing Xion because he always comes off so confident and cool and devil may care, when he's really just a pile of mush under that incredibly thick skin of his, "Corsage? You expected me to wear it? Silly puppy." She said scratching Xion behind his ears. To the untrained eye the pair could pass for more than just friends, but since Donna saved Xion from his tumble the two have gotten very close and pretty comfortable with the other. She had remembered Catcher as he was when she last saw him, as a puppy. He was still very much just that, a puppy. He tried to wrap his arms around Xion and it looked more like a baby cub pawing at their mothers legs. Donna chuckled to herself, "It's nice to see you again, Catcher, and whom may I ask is your attractive date?" Donna said coolly as she took her glasses off, folded them, and slipped one arm of the shades into her cleavage. She knew that Catcher was wildly attracted to her, she could tell the moment he laid eyes on her, but Donna was a respectable woman who wanted to do her best to make sure that she wasn't too alluring...anymore than she already was.

Catcher didn’t pull back from holding onto Xion when Donna spoke, smiling naughtily to himself as he laid his cheek against Xion’s body. It looked like he was going to cling onto him until he was put to bed and he knew without looking up at Xion that his face was probably puzzled, disbelieving and slightly worried about everything. He was probably distressed and wound up… not just since he was here with a date… but actions spoke louder than any words he could convey to Xion. Maybe it was more ‘what the flying fuck’… but Xion was the only one who never pointed out his androgynous and frivolous nature.
To Donna, Catcher had probably been here the entire time; she didn’t live in these parts and keep track of troubled wolfboys. For Xion, he would have heard the gist of what happened and suffered through the angst and drama from the whole situation revolving around him, Veronica, Embry and the rest of the boys; letting Sam handle it. Whatever she knew or didn’t know, she didn’t show a hint of surprise to what he was doing; she was unfazed with not a single trace of confoundment as he held Xion as if his life depended on it. He turned his buried face to peer at Donna in a move that resembled a kitten out of a blanket; he was blushing enough it looked as though he was a seriously drunk teenager. He was not; he was just a little tipsy. Too much love tonight, too much rock and roll… He felt so many things after years of not feeling anything. Everything was as catchy as a country hymn but when he read Donna a moment ago, all he could hear was Bon Jovi in his head. Crescendo, harmony and all angelic chorus ringing in his ears; the wahwah pedal of an electric guitar reminding him of her femme fatale attitude, something about her just made his entire being soar.
Mind choppy, he was rather high on life in that instant; he got almost everything he wanted when these two arrived. He had been bargaining with the almighty and scored a victory. One can never have too much faith… says he without religion.”I had the honour of escorting her tonight by chance…”He began answering Donna while relieving Xion of his sticky cactus hold, dusting off Xion’s prim blue suit, inwardly shrinking into a tiny soft toy the longer he looked at her. ”Pleasure to be seeing you here Donna.”
Speaking more formally to her, he felt the protocol manner of speech evaded what could be blundering inarticulation and he averted his eyes, turning his head to the lovely doll in indigo, elaborating as knowledgeably as he could manage. ”Ms Natasha Black is... Jake’s long lost… sister…” Hesitating because he wasn’t sure if that family jeopardy was all out yet, he just guessed that everyone should’ve found out by now and it was too late to take it back. It was never fair for Natasha to have to hide her identity when she belonged with Jake’s family openly. Startled by Donna's logical question and the way she put her spectacles away; he took a step back and stretched out a hand for Natasha to take so he could properly introduce her to Donna. ”I was really lucky tonight.”Understatement… although, no one would ever believe he could be a dog, that he could stay up all night to get lucky…
He intuitively squinted his eyes in thought, narrowing then widening them in revelation. So, he’d been all around the country on a quest but in front of Donna and Xion, he was eternally extremely young and fiddly. It sounded about right… He was Peter pan looking for the lost boys... The open book of his life started ripping out pages of itself to start over and he observed his elders. They make a suitable couple but something brewed in that dynamic to make it work exactly the way it did; it was why the goddess would show up to this, Xion meant something to her. He wasn’t oblivious to relationships and liked a good mystery; if only he knew what Xion was actually here for… or who for that matter... or did he just come as their gym teacher?! Was he even still… great, he couldn't even keep focus on one subject.
The brain fog cleared a little and he started to believe there was a misunderstanding about his date; it was the way Donna had asked him and in her eyes. It unnerved him, and he sensed an unusual reaction develop within where he felt as though he was bringing a girl home to parents who would think it was sweet and silly. His mind tried to alter that scenario… She was like a sexy teacher interrogating him without actually saying anything harsh. Xion definitely would think he was such a little boy. Furthermore, he was in a dilemma; he liked Natasha and now she knew thanks to Seth so if he denied it, she’d think he didn’t like her... back to square one?”I’ve had the privilege of dancing with the most popular girl in this school and I don’t even go here…” He said with satisfaction, placing the small Ankh around his neck that had fallen out from under his shirt lightly on his lips. It was with that slight enthusiastic exaggerated fashion that he teased the shy, reticent Natasha with all night.
Catcher opened his mouth then closed it, changing his mind and biting onto the pendant unsure whether to correct the unspoken assumption that the exquisite girl beside him was his girlfriend. She didn’t actually say girlfriend…All the introspection made him realize it was never really about him, he always overshot himself. Natasha would never be with him; he wasn’t her type. Her type is Quil. Just Quil. He didn’t even know if she would describe him positively; adjectives about him all seemed to lump into one and all he truly had was that he made her laugh when she needed it most. Something he had never done years before... At least he wasn’t in that line of admirers she ‘tolerated’. Gun down romance… It made him study Natasha incredulously, oddly more composed now that he was in his head again and he dropped the chained symbol from between his teeth. ”My other date… has run out because he just got a crown.” Saying so, he stepped over and interlaced his fingers with Natasha’s gently as before to make sure she felt involved and comfortable; he was still there for her, she had his word. He didn't make a fool of himself for no reason or just for anyone. Talking about Seth made him lighthearted and he no longer cared if for one night he did have a girlfriend. It didn’t bother him earlier; he wanted everyone to think that Natasha had chosen him for this event… It was just that he never wanted this vampiress to misunderstand him… what she thought, mattered.
As much as he fawned over Donna, she was infinitely out of his league and he understood that on a deep dark plane in his heart. If their connection ever blossomed, he would always be sonny boy to her and he would stay his lane. It would still be better than nothing...”Clearly that’s what he really wanted. Not me.” Jokingly, he grinned and shrugged casually adjusting his mood to be more habitual. ”But, any second now… he’ll come back wondering why we didn’t chase after him.“

The evening had already been one full of excitement. In all the commotion of Seth who was probably feeling the affect of the his drink running out with the crown, Natasha did not see Donna slip in. She had started to feel a little sickly but was pushing that off as just the concoction she had just barley swallowed down herself. It was not until the sour/sweet smell filled her noise that she knew a vampire had entered the room. She heard Catcher say her name..Donna..Her chest rose and fell shallower with every breath trying to stay calm as Catcher took her towards this extraordinary looking vampire who she and never met. She didn’t know if Catcher was trying to make her feel more comfortable around Donna or just make her laugh. She had heard about Quil in a pair of leather pants he obtained from a vampire “I have heard stories. Believe me Seth said it was hilarious ” To be so bold she must have an understanding with the pack about being around La Push. Tash had heard from the others about Donna, how Sam and her fought and how he was no match for her on his own. Natasha just assumed it she must have been allowed in these parts. It didn’t take to long for Xion walk on the room and approach the extravagant looking leech. It must be ok for her to be around?
She just kept breathing calmly as heart thumbed hard against her chest, swallow hard to try and stay composed. They were at a dance no need to cause a scene. Catcher let go if her hand and hugged Xion leaving her standing awkwardly near Donna “ its just Tash…Jake and I are family, we will leave it at that.” Natasha looked a Donna not really knowing where to go with the conversation. She listen as Catcher when off about himself being lucky and getting to dance with her. She was the lucky one she didn’t have to be at the dance alone.
Hands empty she grabbed the sides of her dress and balled her hand into fists. “ Hey I heard of you, earned so respect with the boys. So ill treat you with the same courtesy.” She smiled weakly knowing that she never be a match for Donna not really a friend but maybe not a enemy she didn’t feel treated. It was just her smell was more then mildly irritating. She didn't mention Quil, her fight with Sam or any of the things that went down at the cliffs.
Tash let her eyes fall on Xion, Catcher from his reaction was very glad to see him. It was not the first time she had seen him but she was always in awe about how big he was. He was bigger then his cousin, almost as Quil and he came from opposite sides of the family genetics. “How’s is going big guy, nice suit. we almost match.” The outfits the chose were different shades but, blue seemed right on him. With the entry of the two new party goers, Tash had push Seth antics from her mind. He is hungry he won’t wait on us too long.

His friends wouldn’t let him live it down. He had thought running out with the tiara and Cather’s Jacket would be enough to get the pair to fallow but to no avail I guess. He tossed the leather jacket into the passenger side and sat on the hood of his truck acting like a toddler on time out waiting for mommy or daddy to let him get up. He really wanted food.
Just like a toddler he didn’t have much patience so only after a moment or two he made is way back inside with his new accessory still a top of his head. He waved like Queen Elizabeth a he passed some of the less amused girls in the hall. He had stolen the prize. It was probably Tashie's to take anyway he was just borrowing it for bit and possibly never giving it back.
Seth as almost tripping over his own feet as he enter back into the gym, his eyes caught sight of his dynamic duo, who were now a foursome. He must have missed Donna and Xion coming in, he have to blame it on the alcohol. He walked up close to the newcomers and wrapped his arms around Donna. “Hey Dina.. I have missed your ass.” He didn’t know if she be amused or not but he was having fun. He had no clue why he was hugging her, she stunk but it dint matter nothing a good shower couldn’t wash off.
Seth then turned is attention to Xion. He thought maybe he saw him enter the dance and he ran out, that or he though he was seeing g Bigfoot a blue tux. “ Your bigger then I remember.” Seth punched him in the arm lightly but still ended up shaking it off his arms were like boulders. Seth looked him up and down. “you look good.” Seth smirked and wiped his sleeve were he just punched Xion flattening out a wrinkle.
“Drink some punch, tastes like garbage but its doing the trick.” Seth wasn’t much of a drinker it was probably why he was feeling the affect so much. “I'm going to raid the vending machine” Seth looked over at Cather and held out his hand “Got any change?”

Seth had said it was hilarious? He was pleased his best friend kept the story alive for all. It was not every day Quil Ateara has something he didn't want out and couldn't live down. You had to make the most of it but that meant she had heard all the details from his dancing in a dress to the argument Sam and Donna had.
Catcher was nerve racked that he forgot how much hostility there was between Vampires and Shapeshifters in these parts. Donna was an exception for a pure blood and there was nothing much Sam could do after he'd expressed his distaste and nobody complied. She was stronger, wiser and fascinated the rest of the pack. He could hear in the tone of Natasha's comments that she had trust issues about the vampiress being here; she couldn't hide that there was a stench wafting to her. Friendship was too soon, but it was a start that one more wolf was neutral to a vampire and vice versa. His brooding was short lived when Natasha resumed her usual social self with Xion. She was more sensitive after all, and not as intoxicated as he was. Poor Natasha, if Xion hadn't shown up she would be babysitting two drunk knuckleheads all night. She wouldn't really want to know what Seth and himself could get up to, and it was most likely going to be worse now that they were reunited and had a lot of bromance to catch up on. Xion would be able to clunk their heads together if they got out of control; his hands were bigger than their faces. One could see he was reflecting that information with newfound astonishment in his eyes.
He breathed fast, awkwardly positioned in between some sort of female territorial introduction. It felt like the beginning of establishing what they would make of each other and he swallowed. Seeing Natasha's weak smile, he kept the air from not talking in his cheeks, unaware that he became a frog about to croak just before he exhaled in relief. His mind was at a million miles per second yet ultra slow too...no wonder weed could never work.
What happened next was a jawbreaker. He was clenching so hard the muscle at his temple flexed along with his jaw as he tried not to snicker. The snicker would've erupted into laughter and then before he knew it he could be rolling on the floor. All he could do was press his mouth tightly clamped and cover it with one hand, trembling with concern and entertainment. His fingers had been closing by his side as he counted down the seconds to Seth's reentry. His handsome drunk friend came in three, two, one, swaggering."And, God save the queen." He remarked with glee, audibly to the four of them, anticipating whatever Seth did outside would've let him live longer than what he was doing in here.
This needs to be on a homevideo so he could make fun of Seth tomorrow... He was certain the reaper was waiting for Seth even when he trusted Donna to be couth and stay sophisticated no matter what idiotic thing was said. It was no excuse but they truly were innocent, dumb boys... with egos. He couldn't believe Seth had physically hugged Donna and his eyes had almost bulged out of their sockets. But now, Seth was the man and he would give him a high five... they would probably miss and not even notice.
Digging in his pockets, he dropped a few coins into Seth's palm quickly, slowly guffawing. He didn't want Xion to have to pay for their immaturity yet when he just arrived. There was too much change loose on him that he jingled anyway. Catcher was catching the silly bug, losing control in fits; Seth was giving him another form of dope addiction. "Use it all, I hate coins. Buy me something nice...sweetheart..."Once he called him that, dragging it out with emphasis while running a finger along Seth's face moving his long hair. He straight up giggled in stitches; it was the point of no return.

The rush of everyone crowding around Xion made him feel very welcomed. He appreciated Donna being by his side throughout all this. He noticed a few grimaces due to Donna's sweetly permeating odor, but he was really happy to be surrounded by good people. Donnas snide comments made him chuckle, "Always such a gracious date." He winked at her. It wasn't long before Catcher threw himself into Xion's arms. Xion practically dwarfed Catcher, but he still hugged him tightly. The relationship between Xion and his family was always very interesting. He was initially supposed to be Tribe leader, but was later denied that when he came out. He often times felt like the Ateara's dirty little secret. There's still a bit of muddiness in terms of "acceptance" but it seems that baby steps is the appropriate term to use. He gave Donna a coy smile, "Like a brother...you remember." He smirked.
It wasn't until Donna addressed Natasha that Xion even noticed that she was standing to the side of the strikingly haunting vamp. He also noticed Natasha tense up, but he couldn't very much be a barrier to Donna and Natasha, besides he knew Donna could handle her own, but before he could even lift Catcher out of the way to stop Natasha from phasing, there was a pretty immediate respect between the two. Xion laughed, "Your reputation precedes you, Dondi!" Xion wasn't ignoring Catcher, he couldn't, his voice was very sharp and cut through almost anything, even a crowded gymnasium. Xion also noticed that Catcher blushes uncontrollably around Donna. The boys got taste. I'll give him that. Xion thought to himself. When Catcher mentioned Natasha was his date, Xion nodded impressed, "Look at you, being a big man and taking a Black to the prom. I hope Jacob doesn't find out." He said mussing up Catchers hair jokingly...then straightening it out making it look better than when Catcher initially approached the pair.
Xion smiled when Tash mentioned almost matching, "Thanks a bunch, Tash. That color is really flattering on you! You have to tell me where you bought it. It looks like..." He searched the confines of his mind and while he was very good with labels he was coming up empty on where Natasha had come to find the dress she was wearing, but he fibbed smilingly, "DKNY?" Xion was never one to show off how much he'd learned in his travels through the world, but he certainly wasn't as bad as Donna was. Donna was the type of person who would rip you to shreds for buying bargain bin couture. Tash's dress looked conservative, but it was very fetching on her and Xion appreciated her taste. When Catcher mentioned "another" date. Xion looked at him puzzled...It was then he noticed whom Catcher was talking about...as Seth entered. His hair was a little bit longer than Xion remembered and he looked remarkable with that dainty crown on his head, "I didn't know they crowned Prom Queen already." Xion said a little nervously, but was quickly taken aback as Seth threw himself at Donna and even misnamed her.
Xion's heart dropped, not only was his crush drunk as a skunk, but he was also making a fool of himself in front of Donna. Please, don't bite his face off, please don't bite his face off. He thought quietly hoping that Donna would see all the fun in this. When Seth turned his attention to Xion, Xion couldn't help but feel his heart thumping out of his chest the more Seth complimented him, "Thanks...you're...uhm..." He looked to Donna for encouragement, "Your hair is longer than I remember." He chuckled. Idiot... He thought to himself, "You look...you look good too." Xion said blushing harder than he's ever blushed before. Seth seemed to be wanting to go to the vending machine and Catcher was more than happy to give his friend some coins. Food would be a great thing for Seth right now...he's obliterated. Xion thought hoping Catcher would hear at least that thought.
When Seth said to drink some punch even though it tasted like garbage, Xion took that as meaning there was alcohol in that drink, "What a good idea!" Xion said quickly as he grabbed the drink out of Donna's hand and knocked back the luke warm punch mixed with what tasted like rum. The quick effect gave Xion a bit of confidence to do what he probably shouldn't have, "Hey I have an Idea...Catcher don't worry about the coins. I got this. Keep jingling. Seth, let me take you to the vending machine, you look like you could use something with protein in it." He said boldly and confidently, but not fully realizing his double entendre, "Uhm...that's not what I mean...I...Just let's get some food in you." He said trying to lead Seth out of the gym and to the nearest vending machine for snacks. Xion doesn't get nervous often, just around guys he's very much into and he'd hoped he wasn't too obvious for fear of well dealing with his own inner demons of being queer.
As he left, Xion mouthed the word "BEHAVE" To Donna, he gave her a reassuring thumbs up.
